Chapter 8 - Chapter 8 : Misunderstanding

At the infirmary, a nurse noticed Ram carrying Geeta in his arms. Concerned, she asked Geeta what had happened. Geeta replied that she had tripped on the stairs and hurt herself, but the nurse sensed that there was more to the story—Geeta was being bullied by someone. Ram insisted that the nurse treat Geeta first.

The nurse, captivated by Ram's charm, agreed to prioritize Geeta's care. As she treated Geeta, she couldn't help but flirt with Ram. In a sultry tone, she asked, "What is your name?"

"Ram," he replied.

"I'm Monika, but you can call me Moni," she said, flashing a smile.

Geeta, watching the interaction, interjected, "Monika, could you please focus on treating me?"

"Of course, kiddo. I'm treating you, and after that, I'll see to this young man," Monika replied playfully.

Geeta rolled her eyes. "Ram's not hurt!"

Monika laughed lightly, "Oh, you're not the doctor here; I am. I'll decide if he's okay or not. You carried this girl, so you must be tired. Let me check if you're hurt anywhere." She began to touch Ram's arm gently, which made Geeta shout, "Monika ji!"

Surprised, Monika stepped back, "Oh, sorry! Let me check you first."

"Wait a minute, darling—I mean, boy," she added, winking at Ram.

Geeta, feeling thirsty, asked Ram, "Can you bring me some water?"

As Ram went to fetch water from the corner, Professor Chandni appeared. She saw Geeta being treated and Ram getting water, and she approached him angrily, slapping him across the face.

Ram paused, confused by the sudden assault. "Why did she slap me?" he thought.

Professor Chandni glared at him. "I know people like you enter this college using their parents' power, bullying other students. Just because you come from a powerful background doesn't mean you can hurt others. I've heard you've been beating some students, and now you've hurt Geeta. How dare you?"

Hearing the commotion, Nurse Monika rushed over, shouting, "Stop, Professor Chandni! Ram is innocent! He can't hurt anyone—he's a decent guy. Just look at him! He only helped Geeta and brought her to the infirmary when she was hurt."

Geeta, despite her injuries, gathered her strength and came forward. She had tripped and fallen to the ground, but everyone quickly helped her up.

Geeta explained to Professor Chandni, "Some of Ram's classmates were bullying me, but he was the only one who came to my aid and saved me."

Professor Chandni's expression shifted from anger to shock. Guilt washed over her as she realized she had scolded and slapped Ram for no reason. "I'm so sorry," she said, remorseful.

"It's okay; it was just a misunderstanding," Ram replied, trying to ease the tension.

Professor Chandni thanked Ram for saving Geeta and added, "The condition of this college is deteriorating, which led to my misunderstanding." Nurse Monika supported Professor Chandni's statement, saying, "Only she stands against bullying; no one else does."

With that, Professor Chandni decided it was best for her to take a leave of absence, apologizing once more.

As the college day came to an end, Ram assisted Geeta as they walked toward the college gate. At the entrance, Aunt Maya spotted the injured Geeta and exclaimed, "Oh my god, how could someone as beautiful as you get hurt?"

"She just tripped on the stairs," Ram explained.

Aunt Maya glanced at Ram's face, quickly understanding the situation. "Get in my Jeep. I'll drop Geeta off at her house first," she said, her tone firm yet kind.

As evening fell, Rahul and his group huddled in the dimly lit corners of a gambling bar, the atmosphere thick with tension. They knelt before a student known for his ruthless demeanor—Rishi.

"Rishi sir," Rahul began, his voice laced with uncertainty.

"Failure doesn't need to speak," Rishi replied, his tone icy.

"But sir—" Rahul protested, but before he could finish, Gaja, Rishi's enforcer, shoved him hard in the chest.

"I said no talking!" Gaja growled. "When I give an order, it's final."

Rishi's eyes narrowed as he turned to Rahul's friend. "Who was it?" he demanded.

"It was a new transfer student named Ram," the friend answered, his voice trembling.

"Gaja," Rishi instructed, "find out everything you can about him—quickly. We need to know what we're dealing with."
