They all turned to see Clara standing at the entrance; it was obvious someone had invited her over, but who could it be? Who would dare summon Adams' past at this point in his life, after all she did to him? Someone who made him almost kill himself, the person who asked her here is definitely up to no good.

"What are you doing here?" Adams' gaze darkened as he glared at her.

"Don't I have the right to visit a friend who invited me over for dinner?" They only looked at one another, wondering who her friend was.

"I am. I invited her over, and I don't think there's anything wrong with that," Bethel blurted shamelessly.

"Don't push your luck, Bethel! You now have history with Adams, yet you still choose to bring her here? What exactly are you up to?" Adams' mom whined in anger.
