"Based on extensive interrogation, I found that the drugs these traffickers were using came from a man called Hyena."
"This Hyena was actually fired by Yashida Corporation more than a month ago."
After hearing Charles' words, everyone was stunned for a moment.
Could it be that their intelligence was really wrong?
No one would doubt Charles' words because everyone knew his method of interrogation was directly reading the brain's memory.
Even professionally trained agents couldn't lie in front of Charles.
"Can you find this Hyena?" asked Tony.
Charles regretfully shook his head at this question, "I couldn't find his psychic trace. He might already be dead."
In such schemes, eliminating street-level pawns was common, so he didn't think Hyena could still be alive.
"But I think we can approach this from another angle. In this world, how many organizations are capable of studying the zombie virus?"
As the group remained silent, Jean, standing behind Charles, spoke up, "Umbrella definitely has that capability."
Upon hearing this, Tony immediately understood what Charles was implying. It was nothing more than using S.H.I.E.L.D.'s resources to investigate Umbrella.
He said nothing in response, as Umbrella certainly had the power to conduct such research.
Moreover, Umbrella had never given Tony a good impression.
Nick, upon hearing this, glanced somewhat strangely at Charles and Jean.
With his intelligence network, Nick had already gathered detailed information on Charles and Jean the afternoon they arrived at S.H.I.E.L.D.
He also knew that they seemed to have some personal grudge against Umbrella, even seeking out Tony because of it.
Otherwise, with Charles' typically peaceful nature, he wouldn't have gotten involved, let alone so proactively.
After a moment of silence, Natasha suddenly spoke up, "There's also Oscorp, AIM, Trask Industries, and others."
"Even other countries have similar organizations—Russia's Red Room Base, China's National Security Bureau, and the Round Table of Britain."
Hearing so many possible suspects in one go left Charles silent.
Having S.H.I.E.L.D. investigate so many organizations at once was obviously unrealistic.
With that in mind, he suddenly turned to look at Logan and Victor. Under the effects of their healing factors, both had already recovered.
"Logan, how did you escape from Umbrella when you were captured?"
Logan, seeing that Charles was suddenly questioning him, grew furious, "What do you mean by that? Are you suspecting me?"
"You like peeking into people's minds, don't you? Come on, dive in and see for yourself!"
As he spoke, he even pointed at his head, looking like he'd been insulted, visibly enraged.
In reality, Logan's memory told him he had gone through great hardship to escape Umbrella, only to suddenly remember he had a daughter in Japan, which was why he had come here.
Saving Tony had seemed like a coincidence.
Seeing Logan's intense reaction, Charles began to doubt his judgment. Could it be that they weren't sent by Umbrella after all?
"Calm down, child. I only wanted to ask what you saw inside Umbrella. It might help us."
Hearing Charles explanation, Logan angrily turned his head away, ignoring him.
In truth, it was strange; Logan couldn't recall what he'd seen inside Umbrella, nor could he remember how exactly he'd escaped. He only knew he had escaped, but the details were lost to him.
Seeing Logan unwilling to cooperate, Charles turned to Victor.
"Mr. Victor, do you remember if you saw anyone else inside Umbrella? Maybe other kidnapped mutants?"
Victor shook his head, "I've forgotten..."
"Knock, knock..."
Just as Charles seemed ready to ask more, Nick knocked on the table, his one remaining eye coldly fixed on him.
"Alright, forget about Umbrella for now."
"Natasha, Barton, Tony, Logan, Victor, Jean—your mission now is to find this Hyena, dead or alive."
"Understood..."

Nightfall~
Russia, outskirts of Moscow.
The streets were mostly empty, with only a few late-night workers still walking along the road.
After a while, a luxury car suddenly pulled up on the pedestrian street, and the doors opened.
Two burly men, both around 1.89 meters tall and dressed in black suits, got out first, scanning the surroundings.
"Everything is safe. Miss Luna, you may exit the car."
A red high heel, ten centimeters in height, emerged first, followed by a shapely leg wrapped in black stockings.
Just that one leg exuded a sensual allure.
Then, Luna, wearing a black pencil skirt and blazer, stepped out.
She wrinkled her delicate brows slightly, disgusted by the dirty surroundings, "Red Queen, are you sure the person we're looking for is here?"
"According to the address provided by our spies, it's here. 1375 Vodka Road."
"Alright, I'll go look for 1375."
She began walking, her two intimidating bodyguards following closely behind, ensuring no foolish thugs dared approach her.
But just as she neared 1375, a man in a trench coat, his face obscured, appeared ahead.
"Miss, this area is off-limits."
"Who are you?"
"Who I am doesn't matter. What matters is that Americans aren't welcome here."
With that, he flashed a badge.
[Russian Special Department of Management]
At that moment, several other trench-coated men appeared around them. Judging by how they kept their hands inside their coats, they were clearly armed.
Luna was momentarily puzzled.
Her boss had sent her to find someone expelled from Stark Enterprises, a man with a terrible reputation for allegedly stealing Stark's technology.
Why was Russia taking this person so seriously?
"I need to make a call."
Taking out her phone, she called a high-level contact she knew in Russia.
After a while, she hung up, looking displeased. These leeches were going to milk this for all it was worth.
On the other side, the trench-coated man's phone rang as well.
After about ten seconds, he silently put down the phone, then left without saying a word, motioning for the others to follow him.
"Interesting... Who exactly is this person my boss sent me to find?"
Had Adam been there, he would have understood. A former core researcher of Stark Enterprises was never going to be left alone.
Commercial applications might be protected by patents, but when it came to military use, who cared about such things?
