Indeed, in the game in his past life. Yuan was known as the sword god that dominated version 3 of the game. Along with another genius helper.
As Dylan thought of another genius. An uncertain expression appeared on his face. Unlike Yuan, that guy was mysterious. His death was actually unconfirmed. He just disappeared after Yuan died and no one really knew if he was dead or alive.
However, it was only after version 10 of the game that it was confirmed that he was alive. As for his strength? Dylan shuddered. He was the final boss in version 10... The version that all players agreed to be the most difficult!
'No! I must hurry and seize his body now.'
Unlike Yuan, Dylan was confident that he wouldn't have much difficulty regarding this. That heavenly genius wasn't born from a powerful or wealthy family, but rather from humble beginnings.
'It's just sad that I'm the only one who could act now.'
Dylan sighed.
Without the Hobgoblin and Berserker Deer's presence, he felt a bit lonely.
Just like that, Dylan circled the Green Beast Forest first and took 1500 goblins under his control. The 800 goblins from the previous batch weren't enough. On the other hand, only 50 goblins had been produced from.the breeding area which prompted him to visit the other goblin forces in the forest.
The Hobgoblin's that commands them couldn't even put resistance against him. Ome of the Hobgoblins could only watch helplessly as Dylan stole a portion of his forces.
Dylan didn't intend to kill the Hobgoblin Rulers in the Green Beast Forest. They act as extra protection in the territory. More so, they wouldn't dare to trouble Dylan's goblin force after he showed them who's the boss.
Back at his base, Dylan looked at the 1500 goblin kneeling on the ground. Their level ranges from 1st-2nd grade of Awakened Realm. Yes, they're just mobs. However, even mobs could cause harm to someone superior to them if you pile up their number.
"Come inside my spatial dominion. I might need you for something." As Dylan spoke, a huge blue rift appeared, enough to fit 20 people at a time.
The goblins hurriedly stood up and roared obediently. Dylan watched as the goblins lined up orderly to enter the blue rift.
'With this, I would have a portable small goblin army that I could deploy at any time... If I had done this last time, I might have been able to buy time to escape from that Noble Expert. Unfortunately, there's no what-if. It's stupid of me not to think about this early.'
Dylan admonished his stupidity inwardly. There's no room for mistakes! There's only one life and once it extinguishes, you're dead.
Suddenly, Dylan sighed. 'Errrr? One life? As long as I use my soul fragments to seize lots of bodies. I would have multiple ones like a cat. I'll be as difficult to kill as a cockroach.'
...
Dylan glanced at the city in front of him. 'So this is OldYork City. It really looks prosperous outside.' he thought mockingly.
Dylan went to the gate only to be stopped by the two guards.
"State your purpose and identity."
Dylan knew that this was just a routine thing but didn't really have a purpose but a formality. "Dylan Wang, a Warrior from Warrior Alliance Branch in the Congyun City." He presented a badge that every warrior from Alliance got which made the guards nod.
The guard gave Dylan a friendly smile. "So, you're an esteemed warrior. You don't need to pay for entry as one of the privileges of a warrior, as stated by Section 9 Prohibition 7. Please enter..."
"I won't be rude then." Dylan nodded at the two guards and entered the gate in a low-key manner.
Always stay humble. That's the key to preserving life!
"Such a young warrior. Is he 25 years old?" The guard watched as Dylan's back disappeared. He couldn't help but whisper.
The other guard yawned. "Probably a scion of some wealthy family."
...
Dylan ate in an ordinary canteen first. He ordered black coffee and tapsilog to complete his morning. After that, he went to the slum directly.
'Heavenly vision... Heavenly vision... It seems the heavenly vision happened here three days ago.'
Dylan heard a lot of gossip while eating his tapsilog. A similar heavenly vision appeared in the city with the slum as the source. It prompted the mayor of the city to investigate, but they couldn't pinpoint the exact location.
The slum was known to be chaotic where a lot of criminals and underground forces operate. Even the Mayor didn't intend to waste the manpower of the city on the slum. In the end, the Heavenly Vision wasn't taken seriously. Instead, the city and the population just took it as an auspicious sign that something good is about to happen in the city.
Dylan walked ahead. On the way, he took in the buildings on the side of the road. Rusty doors and metals, roof filled with holes and rust. On the road, garbage of snacks and even a banana peel could be seen scattered.
He took in as people passed by him one after another giving him glances of one or two. After all, he's the only one with clean clothes. He stood like a sore thumb in the crowd that was filled with people with shirts covered with dirt and grime and pants riddled with cuts.
The surprising thing was the crowd didn't exchange words with each other or talk behind his back. They would just give him a curious glance and go about on their day. This made Dylan impressed. In the slum, some people had more manners than those in the prosperous city who did nothing but gossip about people. This gave Dylan somewhat of a good impression.
Just like that, Dylan went to the corner where black garbage bags and dumps were lined up. The stench made Dylan shudder. He quickly pinched his nose and walked forward with determination. Fishy smell, the odor of armpits, and that of newly dried shirts that haven't seen the face of the sun assaulted Dylan from all directions.
Even with his nostrils covered, Dylan was overwhelmed and he felt like vomiting
In the end, Dylan saw a cliche scene play out in front of him. Three silhouettes began to block his way. Before they could even speak, Dylan flicked his finger. A wave of flames erupted, devouring the three in a split second.
Dylan walked past the scorched bodies with no time to appreciate his masterpiece. Then he arrived at a dilapidated door. 'This is it. I hope his parents abandoned him here. I shouldn't have done something big yet to cause a big butterfly effect, right?'
