SEAN EDIN'S POV
I stumbled out of the bar, the world swaying around me with every step. My head was throbbing from the combination of booze and bad decisions. My phone felt like a lead weight in my hand, but I clutched it anyway, trying to focus on the screen. Jessel's name blinked at me like a beacon of misguided hope.
I hit the dial, squinting to keep the numbers in focus. The phone rang, each tone echoing in my dizzy head. When Jessel picked up, her voice was clear and sharp, a piercing contrast to my foggy state.
"Hello?" she answered, her tone cautious.
"Hey, Jessel," I slurred, my words thick and unsteady. "It's Sean. I am, uh, outside… and I just… I just wanted to tell you… you're amazing."
There was a pause on the other end. I could almost hear her trying to make sense of my rambling.
"Sean, are you drunk?" she asked, her voice laced with concern.
