MAX POV
The gym was a sanctuary of solitude as I wrapped up my late-night workout, the rhythmic clatter of weights and the steady hum of the treadmill my only companions. I was lost in the rhythm, pushing myself beyond my limits, when the door swung open with a force that cut through the ambient noise.
Gregory strode in, his presence commanding immediate attention. As the President of the Will & Mark Foundation, Gregory's authority was unmistakable, and his demeanor tonight was anything but casual.
"Max," he called out, his voice carrying a sharp edge. "We need to talk."
I glanced over, surprised by the intrusion but I knew why he was here "Gregory. This is unexpected. What brings you here?"
Gregory didn't waste any time. "Why the fuck did you go and see Milan Edins?'
"Why are you asking about Milan?" I inquired, trying to keep my tone calm despite the anger that razed in my body.
