BRUNO DURKS POV
As soon as I hit send, my phone buzzed with the familiar "message sent" chime and a small grin crept onto my face. Wang Chen's response was probably going to be something sarcastic, maybe a half-hearted complaint about me waking him up too early. But that was just part of the rhythm we had, and it never failed to put me in a good mood.
I slipped my phone into my pocket, grabbed my jacket from the chair, and headed for the door. Outside, the cool Utah air greeted me, crisp and fresh with just a hint of autumn sneaking in. The mountains stood tall in the distance, their jagged peaks cutting into the clear blue sky. There was something about mornings like this—peaceful and quiet—that made everything feel a little lighter. I chose to walk to the office as the apartment was not far off and I was in a good mood.
