GREGORY MARKS POV
I stepped into Senator Liam's office, the door creaking as I pushed it open. The familiar scent of leather and polished wood hit me instantly—his office always smells the same, like old money and power. It was orderly and pristine, not a paper out of place on his massive mahogany desk. I watched him behind it, already watching me as if he had been expecting me to arrive before I even knew I was coming.
"Senator Liam" I spoke up and walked over to sit on the leather seats.
"You are finally here" He nodded.
We dove into work and then in half an hour a young woman—mid-twenties, I'd guess—walked into the room, exuding confidence like it was its second nature. Her presence is magnetic. Auburn hair tumbles loosely around her shoulders, and her sharp green eyes find mine almost immediately. There was something familiar about her, though I couldn't place it right away.
I blinked, momentarily thrown aback at her demeanor.
