I drove home, my mind still spinning from the conversation with Ross. After parking, I went inside, showered, and changed into fresh clothes. As I was about to leave, Laurene and Salome walked through Park City. Sal through the door rushed over, wrapping her arms around me tightly, while Laurene lingered behind, her expression unreadable.
I walked over to Laurene, pulling her into a hug. She hesitated for a moment before I felt her body relax, her arms slowly wrapping around me. "Welcome home," I said softly.
She nodded, giving my shoulder a light pat. "Thanks," she murmured.
I led her into the living room, where we sat down, Salome was already lost in her phone, giving us some space. I decided it was time to update Laurene on what had happened.
"Odon's here," I said quietly, watching her face closely. "He's staying in the Hamptons."
