Monday morning arrived, and I found myself back at the office earlier than usual. The reports that had piled up over the weekend stared back at me, waiting to be tackled. Not to mention, the Foundation's anniversary was fast approaching, adding even more pressure to the already full plate. I sat down and began sifting through the documents, trying to prioritize the most urgent tasks.
As I was deep in thought, Oscar knocked and stepped into my office. "Good morning, Patrick," he greeted before getting straight to the point. "Have President Gregory or Deputy President Laurene mentioned anything to you about the Foundation's anniversary?"
I shook my head. "No, I haven't heard a word from either of them. Have you?"
Oscar sighed and scratched the back of his neck. "Nothing from their side, either. It's odd, considering how close the event is."
