I found Mark standing by the window in his office, gazing out into the afternoon Utah skyline. The light reflected off the glass, casting a soft glow around him. He turned around as soon as I entered, his expression momentarily betraying surprise. I could tell he had not expected me to walk into his office unannounced.
"Armand," he greeted, his voice a mix of curiosity and wariness. I simply nodded and walked over to the chair opposite his desk, sitting down without invitation. For a moment, Mark just stood there, as if weighing his options. Then, after what felt like a measured pause, he walked back to his desk and sat down across from me.
He cleared his throat. "What brings you here?"
I could see the tension in his posture, the way his shoulders tightened, and the slight clenching of his jaw. "I need to give you some news," I replied calmly.
