Qi Jianyi stared at the LED screen intently. The microeconomics topic brought her some feeling of similarity. She had learned this before and understood everything by heart. Thankfully, the economy in this world did not differ much from her real world thus she doesn't have to restart all over again.
Ironically she never thought that one day she will study this subject again as if it's new. After all, microeconomics was the last subject she took the exam before transmigrated.
Ling Xi looked at her friend weirdly. As far as she knew, this was the first time she saw Qi Jianyi focused on her class. Before, this friend of hers was too busy playing with her phone.
Ling Xi nudged Qi Jianyi's elbow and asked, "Is there something in your mind?"
Qi Jianyi glanced at the girl who disturbed her thoughts and shook her head softly, "I'm just sleepy."
Hearing the answer, the previous assumptions quickly vanished to thin air. Ling Xi nodded and relishingly smiled.
"Oh that's it. I thought you were listening to the lectures. I got scared for a while." Ling Xi muttered relieved, patting her chest.
Qi Jianyi doesn't know how to react. She was indeed not listening at all. After all, she had learned it once. But seeing the relief on Ling Xi's face made her think that the original owner really did not take her studies seriously.
Qi Jianyi shoved the disturbing feelings at the back of her mind. No matter what, she's not the original owner. Their personalities don't match at all. One was hot and the other was ice.
"Where should we go for lunch later?" Ling Xi changed the topic to something much more exciting. Everyone that knows her would know that this thin and petite girl is actually a foodie who can eat four bowls of rice when she's hungry.
"I don't have much appetite. I want to eat at the cafeteria." Qi Jianyi replied monotonously.
Ling Xi crunched her eyebrows, "When you don't have an appetite, you should go eat something delicious. Cafeteria food is ew. Jianyi, let's go to the new restaurant. I heard their braised pork is delicious."
"You go. I want to go back to my dormitory and rest." Qi Jianyi rejected her friend's request. It's not because she doesn't have any appetite to eat. But it was because Qi Jianyi was too tired to talk with someone who should be very close to the original owner but a total stranger to her.
Qi Jianyi knew that she had to adapt as soon as possible. Although the original owner barely has close friends. It doesn't mean she didn't have one at all. Ling Xi was her close friend. Hence if she tried to distance herself, she might actually bring suspicion to others.
In fact, Qi Jianyi didn't really care if others found her actions strange. But the thought of explaining and trying to find an excuse made her feel tired.
'Alas, let the future determine everything.' She sighed.
"Okay then, if you're hungry later just call me. I'll pack some back for you." Ling Xi gave up and shrugged her shoulders.
…
Qi Jianyi opened her dormitory door. Looking at the big room with only one bed made her sighed. She was still surprised with the wealth of her family. Not only does her family have millions of net worth, she also went to one of the most prestigious and expensive universities.
Although life at her university in her real world was not bad, she still needed to share a room with one roommate. Now, this big room in the university was hers all alone.
In this room, Qi Jianyi didn't have to pretend. No one is watching her actions and behaviour. Qi Jianyi smiled brightly, as if she owned the world.
With a bright smile on her face, she ran to her bed and jumped. Her face met with the pink pillow and all of her body slumped on the bed. She let out a giggle, and rolled her body. Happy that she can take a rest peacefully.
After a few minutes, the woman who was busy rolling around before suddenly sat up on the bed. Her face looked serious as if contemplating something important.
"The next class is at 3 o'clock. Subject macroeconomics…" Qi Jianyi closed her eyes, thinking.
"Let's just skip it!" She decides and jumps back to her bed.
It doesn't matter if she doesn't go to class. She had learned the subject and was proficient at it. Let's just skip it. To Qi Jianyi, her rest and mental wellbeing is much more important.
