"How much?" He Zeqing asked in a defeated stance.
Qi Jianyi smiled at his question and shrugged, "I don't know, how much do you think it should be?"
He Zeqing clenched his teeth in annoyance, he never felt so helpless in his twenty six years of existence until now.
"Is one million enough?" He asked calmly. Although the sentence left his mouth as a question, anyone who heard it clearly knew it was a statement not a question. Meaning, he would not compromise or bargain more than that.
Unbeknownst to him, Qi Jianyi was shocked with the abnormal amount of money offered. She actually aimed for a few thousand, not more than ten thousand. However the bargain she received was one million.
Qi Jianyi felt as though an apple pie had fallen from the sky. For the first time since she had transmigrated into this novel, she realised just how wealthy the male lead was. For a moment, Qi Jianyi forgot that her own family was also among the wealthy.

Qi Jianyi looked at the fight, the scene became more intense over time, especially when they were busy negotiating the price instead of saving the birthday boy.
He Zejin tried to pull himself out of the fight but couldn't. He was trapped in between and neither of them was willing to listen to him. He was completely powerless.
Taking out her phone, Qi Jianyi opened her WeChat app and displayed her QR code to He Zeqing. Her expression clearly conveyed: no money, no help.
Feeling helpless, He Zeqing reluctantly pulled out his phone to scan the code. After a while, Qi Jianyi received a notification that the money had safely reached her account.

"Today is my birthday…" He Zejin said pitifully, struggling to contain his grievance. His special day had been ruined by uninvited guests. Who wouldn't be upset?

"Zejin, just this once." She said seriously and He Zejin nodded happily.

Xu Mei glared at the woman who dared to interfere and demanded, "Who the hell are you? How dare you step in?!"
Xu Mei tried to pull her hair free from Qi Jianyi's grip but failed. Xia Ning on the other hand was as frustrated by the sudden interruption but said nothing.
It wasn't because she was scared. Rather because Qi Jianyi was holding her hair so tightly that it almost gave her a headache.
Qi Jianyi smiled coldly at the question. Who is she? She's the family relative of the birthday boy!
