Solace groaned as he slowly woke up, blinking against the light that streamed into the room. His body ached everywhere, and he could feel the weight of bandages wrapped around his chest and arms. As he adjusted to his surroundings, he noticed everyone gathered around his bed, their faces serious and filled with worry.
"Well, looks like I'm the centre of attention, huh?" Solace croaked, a weak smile pulling at his lips.
Soren, Elinor, and the others remained quiet, their expressions unchanged. Solace tried to sit up, but the pain in his ribs made him wince. Elinor rushed to his side to help, his hands gentle but firm.
"Easy, Solace," Elinor said softly, his brow furrowed with concern. "You need to rest."
Solace waved him off, trying to lighten the mood. "Rest? Come on, I survived a pack of wolves. You should've seen me out there, fighting them off with my bare hands!"
