Zale looked worriedly at his mate, "What is it about?"
"A-about you," Soren stated, voice weak. "And about me, and all those unforgettable and painful memories. About our future, since w-we are..you know m-mates."
Soren tripled over his words before uttering them. Zale looked at his worried expression, apprehension written all over his features. He didn't know how to pursue him and comfort him like Soren used to. Since he was the major cause of his agony.
However, he kind of felt relieved and optimistic when Soren mentioned them as mates. He's terrible at sentiments and reassuring words. He could beat up anyone, but he couldn't make someone feel better when they were in pain.
He's different from Soren.
He tried to imagine what kind of thing could possibly scare him so much. He was sure that Shilister must have said or done something to make Soren this weak.
