Gray and red fell onto the earth as two beings separated, Tuck, captain of Dyrin, stood gracefully, his hands swirling with wind as his opponent came out of the pit they had made.
Sevi's eyes looked deadly as his mana began to surge, "As a mage to another, I can't help but respect your art," but as the young boy said this, his hands began to spark, "But I have surpassed you since last time we battled." With a huge explosion, Sevi sent himself barreling towards Tuck.
But the wind mage had seen this before, so as Sevi was only a few feet away from him, Tuck used a gust of wind to position himself above Sevi.
"Blast."
But to his shock, the fire mage correctly tracked this move, shifting his body at the last moment to fire a blast toward Tuck's direction. But Tuck's Perception already detected this, so he instinctually put up an Aegis. The power of the move was still so strong, that it projected the wind mage up into the air.
Quickly following up, Sevi, using his other hand, launched himself towards Tuck again. But he was blinded by his aggression as a gust of wind launched towards him, hitting him in his stomach, "Dammit, I couldn't put up Aegis."
A bit of blood streamed from Sevi's mouth as he got worried about how early he got an injury. Seeing Sevi stop for a bit. Tuck crossed his arms and gathered his mana, "SPLITTING GALE!!" Two massive wind slices came out of them as they made their way towards Sevi.
The fire mage's mana surged due to his Perception, meaning that if Sevi got hit by either he would be dead. But in some miracle, Sevi's body moved faster than his brain, as he propelled himself towards the side, just in time to not get sliced in half.
But as he got back his composure, he was pounced on by Tuck as the wind mage grabbed Sevi's neck and used the wind to propel himself onto the ground. But only a few feet before hitting the ground, Sevi grabbed Tuck's hand and his shoulder, and with all his might he turned himself and Tuck around, grabbing the wind mage's nape and putting his arm behind his body.
Tuck fell to the ground hard, but he quickly regained composure as Sevi was about to cast, "A HUNDRED FIREFLIES!!" Seeing the fire coming towards him, Tuck decided to move back. The first drop of rain came down as Tuck was moving in a straight line away from the fire.
Sevi wondered what he was doing, but decided to shelf that thought as he followed the projectiles to catch Tuck off guard. But this was all Tuck's plan, as he moved back, Tuck noticed how all the small projectiles gathered in one area, essentially forming into a big fireball and losing the advantage of the spell.
When he had made a few feet of distance between himself and the fireflies, Tuck cast an Aegis, blocking all of the sparks. But as Sevi was coming in, Tuck lifted his hand into the air, and Sevi's face turned to horror as he had seen that action once before, "CRUSHING DRAUGHT!!!"
All droplets of rain dissipated as the force of the cast was so strong it sent a strong gust of wind in every direction. Sevi had seen the power the spell carried, and adding to that how Tuck, a wind mage, would have more destructive power than Bok, a swordsman, Sevi knew if he didn't move he would die, and since he was too close to Tuck, he knew he was done for.
But something rang in Sevi's mind, words from Artefus on how to defeat Tuck, "That opponent of yours is very similar to you, only that he has more experience in actual combat, and his element is wind. You see, wind and fire produce two very different ways to move. Wind, is generally slower, but is more controllable, fire on the other hand, is faster in bursts, but is a lot more harder to control. To win against Tuck, never, stop, going, after him, and if he tries to move away, predict his exit, but keep it in your mind, never stop."
Sevi gritted his teeth as cracks began appearing on his hands and eyes, "NEVER STOP!!!" He told himself as he stood in front of Tuck. With everything feeling like it had become slower, Tuck's hand descended, as Sevi's ascended to meet it, "Final." And sparks turned into a bright flare, "FLASH!!" As Sevi's burning fire met Tuck's swirling wind. The two pushed for control, but as the mana particles collided, it caused an explosion that made a bang that was heard all throughout the field. The attack sent all the grass on the ground waving and made a crater as big as a hill.
From the dust clouds, exited Tuck, but before he could even comprehend, a hand grabbed his neck as he saw the frenzied glowing red eyes of Sevi.
"FULCRU-"
Tuck saw his life flash before his eyes as he grabbed Sevi's hand, "GUST!!" With a forceful push, Tuck's neck was released just in time as a surge of fire came out of Sevi's hand. Now with his opponent in the middle of an attack, Tuck focused mana into his hand as he drove a full-power Kutha strike into Sevi's body.
The hit sent the boy back, but before Tuck could make more distance, Sevi's hands flickered again as a blast sent him toward Tuck. The fire mage's hands then flared a bright yellow as he was only a few feet from Tuck, "Flash."
A surge of flames entered Tuck's body, he was a bit too late on the channeling, as his left side became charred. The wind mage was sent flying, his body bouncing as it repeatedly hit the floor, but Sevi wasn't done yet, extending his arms, he yet again chased after Tuck.
But as he was tumbling, Tuck grabbed the ground, stopping his momentum, and with a surge of wind coming from his feet, Tuck sent himself towards Sevi. As the two were only a few feet away from each other, Tuck expertly moved his body in a way so that he was behind Sevi.
"Unceasing Cyclone," and with a cast, he sent a small tornado towards the Fire mage, pushing every raindrop close to them back as Sevi didn't have the time to channel.
He felt his ribs crack as he was sent flying, but as his body was folding, his hands shot out, and fire exploded from it, sending him barreling towards Tuck yet again. Though he was taking the fight super seriously, Tuck could not help but spark up a smirk, impressed by the kid's tenacity.
Tuck also sent himself barreling towards Sevi, the two mages battling in a spectacle of Kutha and Yutro, their speed was to the point where a normal person's eye could not even comprehend them. Their skills as warriors shined through, Sevi was the main aggressor, constantly chasing Tuck and putting him on the defense, his intellect shined through as he read Tuck like a book, constantly landing stunning moves as he predicted the wind mage's movement.
Though Tuck was no hunted, he was still a force to be reckoned with, he was clever with his movements, often letting Sevi overextend only to counter him. The two mages fought intensely for what felt like an eternity, even though it was only about twenty minutes.
But when the two's mana reserves were about to run out, they knew the end was nearing. In a lull to their battle, the two made distance as they stared at each other. Tuck was breathing hard, a smile now proudly present on his face, his body was bruised and charred all around, he knew he was standing on his last leg, "This kid, he's something else."
Just like Tuck, Sevi was also breathing heavily, his body was covered with cuts, with one big one on his forehead making it hard for his left eye to see. Tuck's attacks weren't the only things that damaged him though, his arms and eyes had cracks present in them, his use of high-caliber fire magic was taking a toll, "I've only got a few spells left until I start bleeding, I need to end this."
So with both mages desperate, their last clash would decide the victor in their dance of flame and gale. Tuck began to levitate as Sevi copied, they looked at each other in the eye for the last time as mana surged through their bodies. In an instant, the two were launched towards each other
"FINAL!!"
"CRUSHING!!"
Tuck's arm swirled with a cyclone as he lifted it, as Sevi's hands produced a bright yellow spark, before igniting into a furious flame. The two put their entire backs into their next attack, as only a few feet separated the victor from the defeated.
"FLASH!!"
"DRAUGHT!!"
The gray winds and the red flames met in a display of power that would've destroyed a mountain, it sent a loud cracking sound all over the region and parted and evaporated all raindrops in a hundred-feet radius.
But from the explosion, came out the two mages, their faces tired and bruised, as blood began to pour from both's eyes and ears.
As Sevi's adrenaline began to die down, his chest suddenly felt a surge of pain, causing him to throw out a massive amount of blood. He had broken most of his ribs, his legs were shaking, and his body really wanted to fall, but Sevi's tenacity didn't allow him to.
Meanwhile, Tuck stared into the horizon, his eyes tired, but his mouth bore a smile, "Frieda, I… won…" But as he tried to walk, he noticed something wrong with his body, he looked down, only to see his left arm completely gone. Sevi's Final Flash directly hit Tuck's arm, and due to it not having any channeling, it instantly burnt it off.
Sevi's fire was so strong, that it cauterized the wound, but even then, Tuck had lost too much blood, and the loss of his arm meant one thing, he had lost. Tiredness took over his body as the adrenaline left, paralyzing him in so much pain it sent him tumbling to the ground.
In the battle of Sevi and Tuck, the fire mage Sevian had won.
