Chapter 2 - Chapter 2 Nora POV

Nora stood in front of her closet, her mind racing as she packed the last few items she needed for her new apartment. She couldn't believe it - after months of searching, she had finally found the perfect place. A beautiful apartment, with a pool, near the beach, and a short commute to the city - what more could she ask for?

Just as she was about to close the closet door, her phone rang. It was her best friend, Sarah. "Hey, I need to talk to you about something," Sarah said, her voice filled with excitement.

"What's up?" Jordan asked, as she taped up the last box.

"I applied for this summer job, and I accidentally applied you too. It's just a one-night thing, and they pay really well. You just have to stand there and look pretty," Sarah explained.

Jordan hesitated. She had never done anything like this before, and she wasn't sure if she was the right fit. "I don't know, Sarah. I've never had to entertain rich people before. I don't want to make a fool out of myself."

"Come on, babe. You're gorgeous. You have the perfect body and the most beautiful skin. Besides, it pays well, and you could use the extra money. Just give it a try," Sarah pleaded.

After some more convincing, Jordan finally agreed. She and Sarah arrived at the interview dressed in their nicest outfits, and as they stood in line, Jordan couldn't help but feel out of place. She didn't have the same blue eyes and blonde hair as the other girls, but she tried to push her doubts aside.

To her surprise, the interviewer took an interest in her. "You're a little surprise," he said, as he looked her up and down. "I like that. I think some of the guys will find you interesting. You're hired."

Jordan couldn't believe it. She had gotten the job, However, as she stepped onto the yacht, she couldn't help but be awed by the glamour and wealth surrounding her.

As Kiesha circulated the party, smiling and chatting with the guests, she couldn't help but feel like an outsider. She was acutely aware of the expensive décor and designer clothing, and couldn't help but compare herself to the other girls. Despite her insecurities, she held her head high, determined to do her best and make some much-needed cash.

It wasn't until Lena came rushing over, a huge grin on her face, that Kiesha's attention was truly caught. "Girl, look over there," Lena whispered, gesturing towards a tall, handsome man standing near the bar.

Kiesha's eyes widened as she took in the man's chiseled features, impeccably tailored suit, and the way he commanded the attention of everyone around him. She felt a flutter in her chest as she imagined what it would be like to be with a man like that, but quickly pushed the thought aside. She was here for a job, not to entertain any fantasies.

As the night wore on, Kiesha couldn't help but find herself drawn to the man, who she learned was named Donovan. She watched from afar as he laughed and joked with the other guests, his charisma and charm undeniable. For a moment, she let herself indulge in the idea of what it would be like to be with him, but quickly snapped out of it, reminding herself of her place.

As the party came to a close, Kiesha made her way over to Donovan, determined to thank him for the opportunity and say goodbye. However, as she approached, she couldn't help but feel a spark of attraction, and found herself lost in his piercing gaze.

But as the night came to a close Nora finally decided to approached Donovan, hesitantly yet determined, she gathered her courage and said, "Thank you, I don't know why I'm thanking you, but I just felt compelled to come over and say that." She mentally berated herself for the awkward greeting, hoping he wouldn't read too much into it.

Donovan turned to face her, his striking features and commanding presence causing her heart to flutter. "Why are you thanking me?" he asked, his voice deep and smooth. "I'm not the one who hired you, nor am I the host of this party."

Nora felt a flash of disappointment, worried that she had made a fool of herself. But then, to her surprise, Donovan continued, "Although I'm very glad you decided to grace us with your presence tonight. I must say, you are a rare and beautiful sight to behold."

Nora eyes widened, stunned by his unexpected compliment. She had been called "beautiful" before, but the way Donovan said it, with genuine admiration and a hint of something more, made her cheeks flush.

"Thank you, Mr. Carver," she replied, her voice soft and melodic. "That's very kind of you to say."

Donovan's lips curled into a subtle smile. "Please, call me Donovan. And I speak only the truth." He took a step closer, his intense gaze locking with hers. "I must confess, I'm quite intrigued by you, Nora. Would you care to join me for a dance?"

Nora hesitated, suddenly feeling overwhelmed by the intensity of his attention. "I'm...I'm not the best dancer," she admitted, suddenly self-conscious.

"Nonsense," Donovan said, his deep voice sending a shiver down her spine. "I'm sure you'll do just fine." Without waiting for a response, he gently took her hand and led her to the dance floor, his touch igniting a spark within her that she couldn't ignore.

As they moved together, Tiffany felt a strange sense of comfort and familiarity, as if she had been dancing with Donovan her entire life. The way he held her, the way he guided her across the floor, made her feel like she was the only woman in the world. It was as if they were lost in their own private world, oblivious to the other guests around them.

When the music slowed, Donovan pulled her close, his lips brushing against her ear as he whispered, "Would you like to continue this party, just the two of us?"

Nora felt her heart racing, every cell in her body screaming "yes." But her mind quickly tried to interject, reminding her of the potential consequences. Was this really worth it? Could she handle the damage it might cause?

But as Donovan's intense gaze bore into her, Nora knew that logic had no place here. She had been drawn to him from the moment she laid eyes on him, and now, with the chance to be with him, she couldn't bring herself to say no.

"Yes," she breathed, her voice barely above a whisper. "I would love that."

With a satisfied smile, Donovan took her hand and led her away from the party, leaving Nora's doubts and worries behind as they embarked on a night of passion and possibilities.
