The woman's eyes sparkled for a moment before she asked:
"And what do you want from me?"
Kane decided not to beat around the bush and got straight to the point.
"The truth is, I want to recruit you to be part of the group I'm forming."
The woman couldn't help but snort.
"Ha, you approached me just for that?"
"Yes."
"And why me? There aren't many people in this city who can serve you better for your group than me."
Kane shook his head.
"Those other people don't interest me. The one I'm interested in is you."
The woman was silent momentarily as if in deep thought, glancing occasionally at Kane's face as if assessing something. After a few moments of silence, she asked:
"Who are you?"
Kane flashed a smile and said:
"I am Merlin Hermes."
