Chapter 10 - 10

**New Chapter – The Fall of the Black Knight**

--------------------------------------

**Woosh!**

The wind howled as the Black Knight raised its sword again, and Dave stepped forward to confront it. The surrounding skeletons instinctively created space, forming an impromptu arena in the midst of the ongoing battle.

"AHHHHH!" The Black Knight roared, taking a heavy step forward, cracking the ground beneath its feet. It swung its massive sword downward with terrifying force, but Dave, reacting quickly, leapt to the side, dodging the blade and charging at the knight with his own sword.

**CLANK!**

The sound of metal clashing rang out as Dave's sword struck the Black Knight's armor, only to be deflected. "This is a problem," Dave thought, rolling backward just in time to avoid another swing of the dark blade.

**CLANK! BAM! BAM!**

The sounds of battle echoed relentlessly as Dave and the Black Knight exchanged blows in rapid succession. However, Dave's attacks proved ineffective against the knight's impenetrable armor. Still, he persisted, determined to find a way through.

**THING!**

The Black Knight struck with unyielding power, relying entirely on its armor to withstand Dave's attacks. The sheer force behind its strikes began to wear Dave down as he struggled to keep up with the onslaught of the knight's massive sword.

**WOOSH!**

The longsword came down swiftly, and Dave, unable to react in time, had no choice but to block it with his shield.

**BAM!**

"Argh!" Dave mentally groaned as the sword collided with his shield, which cracked under the impact. The force sent him flying several meters, rolling across the ground.

**BAM!**

The Black Knight gave him no time to recover and quickly advanced for another strike. But Dave, reacting just in time, gripped his sword with both hands to block the blow.

A sharp sound of colliding blades resounded as the bones in Dave's arms cracked under the strain of holding off the knight's massive sword. "Damn it!" Dave cursed internally. "How the hell do I kill this guy?" He groaned in pain as the Black Knight pressed down harder with its sword.

**Crack crack.**

The bones in Dave's arms began to give way, and he felt a surge of desperation, unsure of what to do. But at that moment, he noticed a shadow leaping onto the Black Knight.

Larry, wielding two swords, jumped onto the Black Knight's back and drove both swords into the gap between its helmet and body. The swords slid in smoothly, as if the armor was hollow inside.

The attack was enough to make the Black Knight turn and strike at Larry with its longsword.

**Slash!**

"LARRY!" Dave screamed mentally in rage as he watched his companion be cleaved in two at the waist. But to his surprise, Larry's upper half didn't waste a second. He latched onto the Black Knight's arm, attempting to immobilize it.

Other skeletons quickly seized the opportunity, grabbing onto the Black Knight's limbs and further restricting its movements, much to Dave's astonishment. "I told them to stay back," Dave thought for a moment. But just then, a healing spell fell upon him, mending his broken bones.

"Sebas," Dave glanced at the skeletal cleric who had healed him and was now moving to heal the other skeletons. Dave gave a satisfied, albeit forced, grin. "Alright then, if you all want to help me, so be it." Dave smiled inwardly, returning his focus to the Black Knight, who was struggling against the skeletons holding it down.

"This guy is practically invulnerable to physical damage, stronger, and probably a skeleton inside as well. How can I defeat him?" Dave's mind raced as he sought a solution to bring down the Black Knight.

"Fire magic? Not potent enough. Holy magic? The dark mana would dilute it quickly if I can't apply enough. What do I do?" Dave thought, but couldn't find an answer.

However, it wasn't in vain. In this moment, filled with desperation and a burning desire to defeat his enemy, Dave's instincts began to guide him.

He stood up and pointed the tip of his sword at the Black Knight's helmet. There was a brief pause before his mana started converging towards the sword, causing it to glow.

**(ROAR!)**

The Black Knight, sensing the gathering mana in Dave's sword, felt threatened as it glowed with a golden-green light.

**BOOM!**

Dark mana erupted from the Black Knight, sending the skeletons around it flying in all directions. It immediately grabbed its sword and charged at Dave, who stood waiting.

The Black Knight let out a roar that shook the ground, swinging its sword once again, now covered in dark mana, with all its might towards Dave. The Black Knight was confident that there was no way to evade this attack, as the dark energy following the blade would shred Dave to pieces.

But contrary to its expectations, Dave didn't dodge or flee. Instead, he swung his sword, now infused with nearly all his mana, forward. The two swords, one shrouded in dark mana and the other in radiant light, collided.

**BOOM!**

An explosion of energy erupted, kicking up dust around them, obscuring the view of the battlefield. As the dust settled, two figures emerged.

With a loud thud, Dave fell to his knees, overwhelmed by exhaustion and missing his right arm, which had held the sword. With difficulty, he looked up and smiled at the Black Knight, who stood motionless.

In the next instant, the Black Knight's head slid off and fell to the ground, followed by its body, crashing with a loud noise. Though Dave had lost in brute strength, his holy energy had overpowered the dark mana, piercing through the Black Knight's defenses and severing its head.

"Easy, bitch," Dave thought to himself before collapsing, unconscious from mana exhaustion.
