"Aghh..."
'My head burns is this what you get for staying too long in the mental world? I spent like half a day in there.'
I felt the hard wooden floor underneath me. I subconsciously look around even though nothing had changed.
'I collapsed right in front of the fridge.'
"Argh..."
Holding my head from the pain I grab onto the handle of the fridge for support.
"Hah..."
I lean on the counter next to me fridge while letting out a soft sigh.
'I have a lot of work to do.'
A determined look quickly flashes through my eyes as I subconsciously clench my fist.
'Boy... head to a store there's something you need to buy.'
A soft melodious voice suddenly rings in my ear seemingly out of nowhere.
"Hmm?"
I quickly check the fridge to see nothing in there.
'I really do need to head to the store.'
I close the fridge doors and slowly walk to my room once again looking around my room in awe.
This is the same room I've been reading about for 2 years. Well, all the dorm rooms are the same.
I sit at the edge of my bed looking at my small nightstand. More specifically my phone.
'It looks the same as my other one.'
I carefully reach for the phone on the nightstand. Quickly opening it and entering my password.
'The same password too.'
I look through the apps on the phone seeing that there still the same as always. I immediately click the camera app.
Green eyes...
Bright green like a jade reflected in the sunlight. I had short grayish white hair, and I was quite handsome.
'So, this is my appearance? I'm handsome, but I probably can't contend with the main cast. I forgot this is a fictional world, where people can have natural white hair.'
I stand up off my bed quickly putting my phone in my pocket.
'I best get going. I don't want to keep Odin waiting.'
*********
The bustling roads filled with a lively youth. Simple conversations with no worries resounded through the roads.
I slowly walk through the crowds and people.
'It's quite lively. Ah, everyone must be settling into their new rooms. Though I do have a destination in mind. I want to visit the mall, it's a recurring setting in the novel. The main cast hangs out there a lot.'
*********
'Buy that and this as well! Ohoho! This blue one would look good on you.'
'How did it come to this? I just wanted to go shopping.'
Having a dejected expression on my face Odin ignored my pleaded and went back to recommending clothing.
I picked up a simple white blouse and head to the cashier.
'Oh c'mon! Kids these days have no sense of fashion. I thought I told you the blue one would look good on you?'
'I'd rather die than wear something like that.'
"Hah..."
'I need to buy some food and ingredients for the house. I wasted an hour on this crap.'
I leave the store in a hurry as if someone I knew was there. Vowing to never return.
'Boy... are you just going to buy one? You're going to need multiple. You can't wear the same one every day.'
'I hate that this bastard makes sense sometimes.'
'Hoho~ I am a god of wisdom.'
I turn around and quickly head back into the store.
*********
I walk down the sidewalk next to the apartment complex I live in holding three bags. One in the right and two in the left.
I enter the building quickly taking the elevator to the third floor, the floor I live in.
I walk over to my room putting the key in the lock. I cautiously look around. In a world full of superpowered thugs I can't let my guard down.
Settling my bags on a nearby counter, I quickly put everything away.
"Hah..."
'Boy.'
"Hmm? What is it?"
'You need to train both your body and mana. Let's start with physical exercise since you don't have a spear with you currently.'
"This is going to be a long day."
I softly muttered as I got on the hard wooden flooring.
'Let's start with 20 pushups-
"Hmm? That's not as bad as I thought it would be."
I interrupted him inwardly breathing a sigh of relief.
in sets of ten'
'I hate this bastard so much.'
"Hah... Hah..."
I was taking heavy deep breaths from my exhaustion.
'This bastard he made me do 200 pushups and take a 10-mile run. I swear one day I'll get my revenge on him. No matter the cost!'
'Let's begin training your mana. Right now, it's the lowest it could be.'
"No need to... hah... rub it in my face'
I could still barely talk from the exhaustion.
'For now, how about you write the First Rune 100 times.'
'This bastard is trying to kill me.'
'Mana works in this world similar to muscles at the beginning if you just constantly work on it and overexert it. You can grow, but in later stages this would have little to no effect.'
'Ho? You'll only run out of mana 3 times. That's barely anything.'
After an hour at work, I can finally say,
'So, this is how Adrian felt every time. This is horrible... if that handsome bastard can survive this, I can too!'
A determined glint flashed through my eyes.
'I'll definitely get stronger.'
I barely manage to get my collapsed body off from the floor and began drawing runes once again.
