"Heh." Furl chucked at the sight of the mercs thinking they won.
"We did it!" Lenny shouted. He went to high-five Glenn when the ground started shaking.
"No way!" Lenny got back into his fighting stance. "How is he still alive after all of that?!"
Arnold, who was still holding the boulder, tried to use as much strength as he could to keep Eunno from emerging, but he was too weak.
*BOOM*
A powerful explosion of fire blew up the boulder which trapped Eunno and an intense wave of heat covered the battlefield. Molten rocks were sent flying everywhere as Eunno emerged from the ground.
"Now that you've had your fun, I'll have mine." Cracking his neck, Eunno looked toward Derry and appeared in front of her in a second. His fists came in contact with her stomach, breaking all her ribs and sending her flying into a tree. He was so fast, that it took a few seconds for everything to register and after Derry was already sent flying, the ground finally caved in from him running and the impact of his punch finally made a sound.
"An amazing punch!" He shouted then turned to Pantera.
"No, you don't!" She attacked him with her wooden Golem, turning its first into a sharp blade, striking at Eunno with as much strength as she could.
"Child's play." Eunno simply jumped toward the blade as his body completely tore through the wood, breaking the golem apart and grabbing Pantera in the face then slamming her head into the ground.
"Noo!" Fully decked out in earth armor, Arnold came charging at Eunno with everything he had. He made earth spikes extend slightly from his armor in order to have Eunno avoid coming in contact with him but Eunno didn't budge at all.
As Arnold threw a punch, Eunno caught his arm, pulled him in close, and slammed his fists into his abdomen. He then grabbed Arnold's head then punched it with such force that all the earth armor blew apart instantly.
Lenny and Glenn both approached Eunno when he least suspected it. Lenny struck at his back while Glenn struck at his chest. The result? Absolutely nothing. Eunno simply looked at Glenn, grinned then grabbed both of their heads, slamming them into one another. He then stomped on Lenny's chest and extended his palm toward Glenn, firing a concentrated beam of fire that pierced his abdomen. In 7 seconds, he wiped out the mercenaries.
"Are they dead?" Furl asked
"No. They still have their uses, not to mention this guy is a fellow flame user, we should respect him by not killing his allies." Eunno spoke
"Weirdo." Furl now looked at the battle between Bia and Carter.
"Hahahahahahaha! Yes! That's it! Beg for mercy!" Flailing her whip around, Bia assaulted Sir Carter at all angles. There were no gaps in her attacks, no openings for Sir Carter to escape, he could only take the brunt of her attacks.
"Enough!" He slammed his sword into the dirt and a pillar of fire erupted from the ground that engulfed Bia. Just as he was going to see her condition, a whip wrapped around his arm, pulling him toward the flame pillar.
"No, you don't!" Using his strength, he firmly planted his feet on the ground and pulled the whip toward him rather than him being pulled in. Bia emerged from the pillar, laughing maniacally as the force of Sir Carter's pull launched her his way at a fast pace.
She had a fireball in her hand and was about to shoot it at him when she saw a sword in her peripheral vision. Sir Carter attacked first before she could, but moving like a snake, she twisted her body, slithering around his sword, appearing on his shoulder, and shooting the fireball in his face.
"Arghh!" The force of the explosion expelled him back, but as he was still connected to the whip, he was brought back to Bia where she kicked I'm in the stomach causing him to crash into the ground.
"You were never stronger than me Carter. Give up!"
"Never!" He coughed, getting up slowly. He put both hands together and his red flames burned vigorously. As he pulled his hands away, a spear made of flames formed radiating heat that could melt metal with ease. He aimed at Bia, and with all his strength, he threw the spear at her, hoping it could cause some damage.
"Heh, you never listen do you?" Extending her hand, she caught the fire spear with ease, giving Sir Carter a look that said 'That's all you got?'.
"I-Impossible!" Sir Carter stammered over his words, walking back slightly.
"It's very possible, actually." In an instant, she appeared in front of Sir Carter and stabbed him with his own attack, knocking him out cold.
"Well, we're done here," Bia spoke up as she turned around to see everyone defeated. "Eunno, take them to the dungeon, they could have some valuable information for us. Furl, we'll go look for Tessa and that kid."
Eunno stomped his foot and a large platform of fire extended from his feet. He put Sir Carter and the mercenaries on it then took off into the skies.
Bia and went in Tessa's carriage and told Furl to drive.
"Why aren't we flying? We'll catch them faster?" He questioned.
"I like a good game of cat and mouse. Besides, it's only the two of them and they can't possibly escape us like how she could with Carter being with her. Not to mention, we have the insect which can still track her." Bia pulled out a jar from her storage ring to see where the tracking insect would point. But to their shock, the insect was dead.
"Huh? How is this possible?! How did the insect die?!" Both of them were confused by this revelation. The insect was in her storage ring the entire time so there was no way it could have gotten damaged in her fight against Sir Carter. The only way for it to have died would be if the other incest died.
"Oh, that little bastard!" Bia crushed the jar and burned its contents to ashes
"What happened?" Furl questioned
"That little brat. When he struck Tessa's chest, it wasn't to make it seem like he was going to hand her over to us, it was to kill the insect in her core! I don't know how he did it, but he managed to get one over on us." Her aura exploded and it broke apart the carriage and killed the horses. "Furl, flying would indeed be faster." She smiled, and then they both rocketed off into the sky.
...
[Present day.]
Joren slowly opened his eyes. His body felt weak and he was very hungry. He looked around and saw all of his belongings neatly stacked next to a tree. Confused he looked to the other and saw a blanket held up by two trees acting like a curtain, covered by leaves, sticks, and branches, and Tessa carrying firewood in her hands.
"What the hell am I looking at?" Joren spoke weakly
Tessa's head turned sharply as she heard Joren's voice. She dropped the firewood and ran to Joren, giving him a big hug.
"You're okay! Thank the Gods you're okay! I-I didn't know i-if you would wake up." She hugged him tightly as tears ran down her face.
"Woah, woah, woah, calm down, tell me what happened." He rubbed her back and gently pulled her off so she could explain.
Sniffing and rubbing away her tears, she explained everything that happened after he said he couldn't breathe. She told him how she had built a makeshift shelter so they wouldn't be found as she couldn't move as fast as he could. She also mentioned that he was unconscious for a week.
"Thank you." He smiled softly.
"It's the least I can do. I don't know how, but, I felt that you were going to be okay. I was still scared that you wouldn't wake up, but I hoped that the feeling I had would be real and it turned out that it was."
'The sigil I placed on her! It can connect us to each other. Hmm, maybe I can do more things with her now as she seems a lot more comfortable around me. One thing I have to do next time I get the chance is put my sigil on Derry and Pantera. It was foolish of me to hold things off.'
"Well, let me cook something for us to eat, I'm sure you're dying for my food." He teased
"You don't understand how badly I'm craving your food right now, but are you okay? You just woke up and your body is still weak. You should take it easy." Her eyes had worry in them which really threw him off as he thought back to their first encounter.
"Don't worry babe, I'll be fine." He stood up and kissed her on the lips. She was stunned by his indecency but she didn't back away, instead, she wrapped her arms around his head. His tongue invaded her mouth, wrapping around her's as their saliva merged together. He pulled away which made Tessa lean in further to continue the kiss.
"Haha, later, let me go cook."
She blushed, then nodded as he packed her cheeks to snap her out of her trance.
