Chapter 54 - 54: Traveling across Dimensions

"Not necessarily? What's your plan? Don't tell me you're thinking of using silicone or something to fill it in?"

Tony looked disgusted. "Don't come up with such a lousy idea. I'd rather build an upgraded arc reactor with a new element then sit in a hospital bed filling my chest!"

"Of course not. I'm planning to cross over to another dimension soon, and I'm sure I'll bring back some good news for you," Lyon said.

"Cross over…" Tony muttered for a moment, then his eyes suddenly lit up. "You're planning to go to another dimension?"

"Oh my God! You have to take me with you!"

"I've been wanting to go for a long time!"

He suddenly became extremely excited. "That's an alternate dimension! Would there be another me over there, or another you?"

"Could it be that in that dimension, I'm Superman, and you're Iron Man?"

The more Tony spoke, the more excited he became. He quickly took a few steps, almost scratching his head in anticipation.

"Wait, let me think about what to bring for the dimension crossing: Iron Man suit, electronic equipment, US dollars… No, I need to bring gold, and also…"

Here we go again! This guy was getting excited all on his own again.

Lyon helplessly stopped Tony. "You've misunderstood again. I'm only planning to go by myself, without you!"

"Without me?" Tony was stunned.

"That's right, without you!" Lyon's tone was firm.

"Really, without me?" Tony looked incredulous.

"Really, without you!" Lyon dead-panned.

"You! You're just going to leave me behind like that?" Tony's outstretched finger was trembling.

"You gave me a third-hand gift for my birthday, and now you're going on a trip without me too?"

The corner of Lyon's mouth twitched. Tony's expression at this moment looked just like a husky abandoned by its owner, a mix of confusion and shock.

"It's not that... it's just that there are some uncertainties involved. I need to try crossing over by myself first."

"If the crossing process is stable and I can bring someone along... uh, well, it does seem possible to bring someone."

"In any case, if there's a chance in the future, I'll take you across once. Didn't you want to go to the DC universe? I'll bring you along then!"

Lyon felt that his dimension-crossing ability was quite versatile.

As long as there was enough energy, he could probably pack up the entire Marvel Universe and take it with him.

"But this is, after all, the first time. I have an indestructible body and can afford to make mistakes, but you can't!" Lyon provided his reasoning.

"Ah.. Um..," After hearing the explanation, Tony opened his mouth as if he wanted to say something, but in the end, he just showed a look of regret.

He knew he was out of luck.

After all, Lyon wasn't wrong; the first time crossing dimensions should be approached with caution.

Taking him along right now would be no different than bringing along a burden.

He spread his hands and said, "But have you thought about what you'd do if, as soon as you crossed into another dimension, you ran straight into kryptonite?"

"Well… should I go wearing the Super Mark I suit?" Lyon thought for a moment.

"Exactly! You should go in the suit! Also, take five arc reactors with you, just in case! And there's also the issue of disinfection and equivalents; you need to…"

Tony went on with a long list of reminders.

He talked so much that halfway through, he had to stop for a sip of water before continuing.

"Alright, once you've made all these preparations, you'll be ready. When you're sure you're about to cross over, let me know, and I'll be watching from the side."

...

The next day.

In the evening.

Lyon stood in the middle of a circle of diagnostic instruments in the underground garage.

He was wearing the Super Mark I suit and holding a large travel backpack in his hand.

Inside the backpack were 5 arc reactors, 10 pieces of 1-kilogram gold, disinfectant spray, hemostatic spray, etc…

Tony had personally prepared this backpack, filled with all sorts of emergency supplies, truly everything one could think of.

Although Lyon felt that most of them were unnecessary.

"Are you sure you're leaving right now?" Tony asked from behind a projected screen.

"That's right." Lyon nodded. "But I should be back soon. You know that with my powers, everything is easy for me."

Tony shook his head. "I'm only worried about kryptonite and the red sun. After you get over there, if you encounter any danger, make sure to come back immediately!"

"Don't worry, even if I'm restrained and lose my superpowers, I can still manage just fine."

Lyon tapped his head with his finger. "Superman has weaknesses, but the knowledge in my head won't disappear."

"I'm off." He slung the travel backpack over the back of his suit. "I hope that when I return, you'll have already successfully developed the new element."

Tony had gone to the industrial park this morning and brought back a design panel.

"Then you'd better come back soon because I'll be able to create the new element core tonight." Tony smiled smugly.

He had done some research that afternoon and, with Lyon's hints, discovered the secret of the design panel.

It was a blueprint for a new element.

All he needed to do was analyze this blueprint and synthesize it using a particle collider, and soon he would successfully obtain a new element.

As proud as Tony was, after figuring things out, he couldn't help but marvel at his father's brilliance.

"Let's hope so." Lyon was also happy for his big brother.

"I'm off. Take good care of yourself and Pepper!"

After saying this, Lyon closed his eyes.

On the other side, Tony began activating various instruments, starting to record the on-site data.

Recording data on time-space traversal—this was an opportunity countless scientists could only dream of, and he certainly wouldn't pass it up.

[Initiating dimension search!]

[Keywords: limb regeneration, enhancing Kryptonian abilities, dimension with low upper limit on extraordinary powers, no threats.]

[Successfully locked onto dimension!]

[Calculating energy required for crossing!]

[Crossing confirmed!]

Lyon, using his dimensional-crossing ability, carefully monitored each procedure and value internally.

Very quickly, a stream of divine and enlightening information appeared in his mind, making him immediately realize that the alternate dimension search had been successful.

Dozens of options appeared in his consciousness, all of them dimensions that met his criteria.

These dimensions looked like bubbles, each resembling a chaotic black hole, revealing no information.

He could only randomly choose one of them.'Then, Eeny, meeny, miny, moe'

Then, a sensation between reality and illusion descended, enveloping him.

In this state, he could vaguely sense the energy required to traverse the dimension currently locked onto.

'—About one-tenth of my current physical strength.'

Considering Lyon's catastrophic-level power as a human-shaped disaster, this amount of energy was by no means insignificant.

In concrete terms, it was equivalent to at least nine days' worth of global electricity production.

At this point, Lyon understood why this original dimension's gift to him was Kryptonian lineage and time-space traversal.

If he had only the Kryptonian lineage, then to achieve unlimited power growth, he would have had to rack his brain and search tirelessly for opportunities in the Marvel dimension.

If he only had the ability to traverse dimensions, he might have spent an enormous amount of time and money just collecting the energy required for a single crossing.

But now, with these two abilities combined, everything fell into place and complemented each other perfectly.

Lyon felt a strange sensation deep in his heart.

Perhaps, with the combination of these two abilities, he could easily break through his limits and become the strongest—who knows?

He didn't waste much time.

Lyon finally confirmed in his mind to begin the traversal.

As soon as the thought came out, a majestic suction force appeared in his body out of thin air.

It was as if there was a black hole connected to his limbs and bones at this moment, frantically extracting what could be extracted.

However, this suction force came and vanished quickly in a mere second.

After draining one-tenth of Lyon's physical strength, the suction automatically dissipated.

Instead, a pull came over Lyon.
