Chereads / Neato / Chapter 52 - Chapter 52: Cold Storm

Chapter 52 - Chapter 52: Cold Storm

The battlefield was a storm of dust and blood, the clash between Neato and Roman echoing through the barren desert. The pyramid loomed in the background, a silent witness to the violence unfolding beneath its shadow. The sun was nearly gone, casting the world into a dim twilight as the two warriors fought with relentless fury.

Roman's katana slashed through the air, each strike aimed with precision and deadly intent. But Neato moved with an unnatural grace, dodging every swing with ease. His eyes, cold and disdainful, locked onto Roman as if he were nothing more than a bothersome insect.

"Is this all you've got?" Neato's voice dripped with contempt, his tone mocking. "How disappointing."

Roman gritted his teeth, anger flaring in his chest. "Who are you to be disappointed in me?" he spat back, his breath heavy as he prepared for another strike.

Before he could react, Neato vanished, disappearing from sight only to reappear behind Roman in a flash. His voice was a whisper in Roman's ear, chilling and absolute. "I am God."

With a swift, brutal motion, Neato's fist connected with Roman's back, sending him crashing into the ground. The force of the impact cracked the earth beneath him, dust billowing into the air.

"You are disgusting," Neato said, his voice filled with venom. "All humans are disgusting."

Roman struggled to push himself up, blood trickling from the corners of his mouth. But instead of despair, a grim smile spread across his face. He began to chant under his breath, his voice growing stronger with each word.

"By the temple of angels, I have been betrayed by all. Let God decide which will fall and live… crucified heavens!"

The ground beneath Roman trembled as a dark power surged through his body. Black armor began to materialize, covering his body like a second skin. Black steel wings erupted from his back, and crimson lines of blood appeared on the armor, glowing with an ominous light. Roman's own blood was fueling the transformation, giving life to the terrifying form he now possessed.

Neato watched the transformation with a twisted smile, amusement dancing in his eyes. He could feel the surge of power in Roman, but it did nothing to quell the disdain in his heart.

"Let me show you," Roman growled, his voice now a deep, resonant echo, "what a human can do."

Neato's smile widened as he laughed, a cold, heartless sound that sent shivers through the air. "Very well, human. Show me."

The two of them stood facing each other, the air between them crackling with tension. Roman's armor pulsed with a dark energy, the lines of blood glowing brighter with every beat of his heart. Neato's eyes glinted with cruel anticipation as he prepared to face whatever Roman had to offer.

The world seemed to hold its breath, waiting for the clash of gods and monsters to begin again. The stakes had never been higher, and as Roman charged at Neato with newfound power, the outcome of this battle would determine the fate of all humanity.
