Chapter 6 - CHAPTER 6 : The Old House

Neato and Roman walked through the bustling streets of Verdonia, the city's white buildings and vibrant markets providing a stark contrast to the desert they had crossed. Neato's curiosity got the better of him as they walked.

"Where are we even going?" Neato asked, glancing at Roman.

"To find the next member," Roman replied curtly, his gaze fixed ahead.

They eventually reached a small house near the city's wall. The house was old, with broken windows and a rundown appearance. Neato raised an eyebrow at the sight.

"So, the next person we need is in this old, dirty house? Okay," Neato remarked, his voice dripping with skepticism.

Roman paid no attention to Neato's comment and approached the door. He opened it and stepped inside without hesitation. Neato lingered at the threshold, peering inside with a mix of curiosity and caution.

"I'm good. I think I'll watch from here if you don't mind," Neato called after Roman.

Inside, Roman began to look around the dimly lit room. The air was musty, and the furniture was covered in dust. Suddenly, a cup flew out of nowhere, aimed directly at Roman. With lightning reflexes, he blocked it, his expression remaining stoic.

Out of the shadows, a boy appeared, charging at Roman with a sword. Roman sidestepped the attack effortlessly, but as he moved to knock the boy unconscious, the boy grabbed Roman's hand and twisted it, causing Roman to fall to the ground. The boy stood over him, sword aimed at Roman's throat.

"Fuck you," the boy spat, his face contorted with anger.

Roman's expression remained emotionless, even as the blade pressed closer. Just then, Neato appeared at the door, casually munching on a piece of bread. He looked at the scene before him and grinned.

"Roman, I didn't know your type was younger kids," Neato quipped, his voice teasing.

With a swift motion, Roman knocked the boy out, his body slumping to the floor unconscious. Roman stood up, brushing himself off as he glanced at Neato.
