So many days I have waited for this day to come, this day will determine my future and the path I shall take.
I'm nervous beyond words , I'm already aware that I have magic because everytime I'm near a magic item I make the surrounding mana chaotic. People can also tell from my appearance, if one has strong magic sometimes it interferes with their appearances. For example a person with strong fire magic may have his/her eyes or hair an unnatural red colour. So the moment people see my appearance they immediately know I'm blessed with a strong magical power or powers.
It's not only that, as a child of Ruger Walter who previously is one of the 10 mighty guild leaders, everyone is expecting high results. Mother, Claudine Walter is widely known as one of the most powerful light magic wielders throughout the kingdom. My older brother Raymond his magic is fire , his hair is red and he is the captain of the Red claw guild. Then there's Victor who's one year older than me, he has both fire and light magic and his hair is a unique white colour. He entered the testing ceremony last year and today is my turn, I will be tested with other 9 year olds being watched by the entire town.
" Ready Claudia?" asked Raymond with his everyday serious voice , I'm happy that he was able to leave his duties just for my testing ceremony. Victor and I don't really interact with each other and I think he is father's favourite since he is as cold as he is , " yes brother I'm ready". I got inside the carriage spending the entire time trying to calm down my stomach, I cannot afford to embarrass myself with father, Raymond and Victor here...
" Greetings to all the parents present, I the town's Nameless priest am happy to see everyone here with the intentions of supporting the town and country's future. No testing ceremony should be taken lightly as these children are our country's future. " Every individual who is blessed with holy magic becomes a nameless priest , given the power of blessing, curing curses , reading magic they are very valued by the country.
There were about 30 of us standing on the stage and the many people who were watching us sat all around us while the priest was floating in the air. My family was sitting in the front row .
" we will begin with first testing if you have magic or not , unfortunately if you are found without any you must leave the stage" the majority looked nervous but there were those who were not afraid at all including a sliver grey hair boy who had his eyes closed. After observing us a little the Nameless priest's eyes shone a white light and from his hands he released a big ball of light that made it hard to see. it hovered above us all then suddenly it separated into smaller balls that headed for each of us. it was so fast and the next thing i knew I was surrounded by this warm harmless light.
" Do not be afraid, if the light ball headed for you it means you have magic, this spell is attracted only to those with magic and so those of you who weren't chosen please step off the stage so that we can quickly proceed with the ceremony" right after his words some kids left the stage , some even crying. I felt sad when they're already hung low heads lowered even more when whispers started
" oh look easily identified those who'll be our children's servants"..
" I pity them , what will be of their future "..
" why pity them when they've embarrassed their families, I only pity their parents "..
" sigh if only parents can choose kids for themselves "..
How can they say that? what human , worse a parent can say such cruel words ! it just infuriated me . " Can we continue this ceremony in silence please " asked the nameless priest and the answer to his question was silence, the whispers stopped then he continued. " This time I have to touch your hands in order to determine what type of magic and magical power you have " there were now fifteen of us and as soon as the nameless priest descended down on the stage a boy with blonde hair volunteered to start first.
" I want to go first , I'm already tired of wasting time here so lets rap this up already" said the boy voice filled with arrogance and I saw him look in the audience. I looked at the direction of where he was looking and it was a family sitting next to mine, the clothes were not simple at all. They looked wealthy and their faces said it all " we're above and all else is beneath us" it's nice to identify people who you should stay clear of in life.
" My my this is a confident one , let's hope you won't disappoint" the priest still had a smile and the boy scoffed at the nameless priest's words but the priest ignored that. They held hands and after waiting for a few seconds a white light surrounded them which quickly turned brown then it slowly disappeared. " congratulations, Earth magic most common one but it's elemental so you should be happy " yet he didn't look happy at all , more like angry.
The priest ignored him and continued to the next and it was that silver grey hair boy , they did the same process " Congratulations, you have fog magic considered to be very rare and unique "that released expressions of awe from the crowd and I myself was amazed even though I knew nothing about it. I was the fifth one to be tested unlike the others who had to wait a few seconds for the light , as soon as the priest and I held hands we got surrounded by a white light that got eaten by two different kinds of blue and some white dancing line inspiring gasps from the crowd.
"what is happening?"..
" its so beautiful but this has never happened before! right?"..
" my , I can feel the magic dancing with mana, who is she?"..
" I thinks it's the previous Winged-eye guild leader's daughter "..
" indeed it must be her, it's only right for her to receive such power !"..

It took me a minute to register what he said then he quickly went to the other kid next to me. Four, four?, four! and I have father's magic which is lightning! I looked at father who now had a proud look on his face , something I never thought I'd receive from him and so was Raymond. Victor was just shocked and mother looking as happy as always in everything I do even if it's insignificant sometimes.
" Now we do the final most important part, magic cannot work without your very own spell moonra. You either receive a moonra that has been already used but now has no owner as have the previous wielder must have past on or you get a new never seen before moonra . moonras come in many different forms , some as books , earrings, bracelets or leafs and more so be ready to finally end this ceremony!" yes the most crucial part , you many receive a moonra that has a few spells or that has many spells but the best one is the one that can develop new spells overtime.
