Chapter 56 - Chapter 56

It was getting dark, Dr. Lee wondered where Aria was. Jack looked at the door and found it suspicious that Aria is back.

Jack's eyes narrowed, his gaze piercing Daniel's nervous expression. The air thickened with tension as Jack's voice dropped to a menacing whisper.

"You lied to me, Daniel."

Daniel's eyes darted around the room, seeking escape from Jack's accusing stare. His shoulders sagged, defeat etched on his face.

"Where is Aria?" Jack demanded, his anger boiling over like a simmering pot.

Daniel's lips trembled.

"She went to find the woman who caused the accident," he whispered, the words barely audible.

Jack's face contorted in rage, his fists clenched.

"Why did you let her go?" he screamed, the sound echoing through the mansion's halls.

Daniel burst into tears, his body shaking.

"I wanted to follow her, but she refused," he sobbed, his words punctuated by ragged breaths.

The family gathered around, concern etched on their faces. Mrs. Linda's hand flew to her mouth, her eyes wide with worry. Leah's arms wrapped around her waist, her face pale.

Dr. Lee's eyes widened, his mind racing. He took a step back, his eyes darting toward the door.

"Allison's involved," he muttered, his voice barely audible.

Jack's gaze snapped to Dr. Lee.

"Guards, capture him!" Jack shouted.

The guards sprang into action, tackling Dr. Lee to the floor. His arms flailed, his legs kicking.

"No, please!" Dr. Lee begged.

The guards pinned him down, their faces impassive.

"Allison sent me to treat Jack," Dr. Lee revealed, his voice desperate. "I didn't know her true motives."

The room fell silent, the weight of Dr. Lee's words sinking in. Jack's gaze locked onto Daniel and Leo.

"We need to find Aria, now," he urged, his voice low and urgent.

As if summoned by Jack's words, the door swung open. Allison strode in, a sly smile spreading across her face. Twenty menacing figures flanked her, their eyes scanning the room.

Allison's gaze locked onto Jack, her eyes gleaming with malice.

"Hello, Jack," she said, smiling.

The room froze, held captive by Allison's chilling presence. Aria's family exchanged worried glances, their hearts racing with fear.

Mrs. Linda stepped forward, her voice trembling.

"Allison, what have you done?"

Allison's smile grew, her eyes flashing with triumph.

"Oh, I've just begun," she whispered, her voice dripping with malice.

Where was Aria?

The ray of light was surrounding the store room, Aria layed unconscious in. A skilled fighter emerged from the shadows, hired by Allison to take down Aria. The woman's eyes locked onto Aria, a fierce determination burning within.

Aria smiled, holding her dagger in her hand.

The two women clashed, their movements swift and relentles, The woman wanted to punch Aria in the face, but then Aria twisted the fighter's wrist, the dagger pressed against her neck.

"Back off, or she dies," Aria warned, her voice cold.

The men hesitated, retreating as Aria threatened to kill the fighter.

Seizing the opportunity, Aria pushed the fighter into the approaching men, creating a diversion. She sprinted toward the door, slamming it shut behind her.

The forest beckoned, its darkness a potential sanctuary. Aria ran, as fast as she could.

Shouts echoed through the trees, her pursuers closing in.

Aria hid behind a thick trunk, her chest heaving.

Suddenly, a snake struck, its fangs sinking into her leg.

Aria screamed, her vision blurring. With the little energy she have she kicked the snake away.

Two figures strolled through the forest, their footsteps quiet.

"Your Highness," the bodyguard addressed the passenger.

The passenger's eyes flicked to the bodyguard.

"We're not in the palace, Marcus. No formalities."

Marcus nodded, his expression apologetic.

"Yes, sir."

As they approached Aria's hiding spot, the passenger's gaze fell upon her limp form.

"Wait," he whispered, rushing toward her.

Marcus followed, alert.

"What is it, sir?"

The passenger gently turned Aria onto her back.

"This woman... she's been bitten by a snake."

Marcus's eyes widened.

"We need to get her to safety, sir."

The passenger's face set in determination.

"We'll take her with us."

As they lifted Aria, her face remained pale, her fate uncertain.

Prince Lucas cradled Aria in his arms, his eyes filled with concern. As he walked, he gently introduced himself.

"I'm Prince Lucas, from London. You're safe now."

Aria's limp form didn't respond, but Lucas continued speaking softly.

"I've already used my knife to tear open the wound and release the venom. The woman will take care of you now."

The old woman, wise and kind-eyed, greeted Lucas.

"Thank you, young prince. Bring her here."

Lucas laid Aria on the mat, the old woman's skilled hands taking over.

"I'll stay no longer," Lucas said, rising.

The old woman nodded.

"Thank you, Prince Lucas. She's in good hands."

As Lucas turned to leave, his gaze lingered on Aria's pale face.

"This woman has suffered so much," he thought, his heart heavy with empathy.

With a final glance, Lucas departed, his bodyguard, Marcus, following closely.

The old woman's gentle voice whispered, "Rest now, child. You're safe."

As the door closed behind Lucas, the old woman began applying medicine on Aria's leg where the snake had beaten her.carefully tending to Aria's wound.

Outside, Prince Lucas walked alongside Marcus.

"Keep this quiet, Marcus. No one knows I'm here."

Marcus nodded.

Prince Lucas's interest in Aria's story had only just begun.
