"U.. Under attack?" I couldn't help but repeat his words in a question like tone.
I gulped as I looked at the piece of unfinished steak on my table, my heart bled at the fact that I had to leave this exquisite meal and cower away in fear of being caught up in their battle.
' Damn... Such a fine meat, of all times the pack had to be under attack, it just had to happen right at this moment.'
My gaze couldn't help but wander to the blonde girl who was still eating as graceful as she had been before she heard the news.
She sat there not bothered about the fact that the pack was being attacked.
I glanced at Ryan, although he had stopped eating his meal he sat there, unmoving... His eyes focused as if his mind had wandered somewhere.
' well if they're not bothered I guess I should get back to my meal, such a good meat it'd be a shame not to at the very least finish a plate or two.' I thought, confident in my ability to escape if push comes to shove.
Finally Ryan spoke up once again, only this time it was directed to the silent stranger with the Auburn hair.
" They're thirty in total, they have twenty seven betas and three omegas. How quick can you handle them?." Ryan asked and I couldn't help but raise a brow at his words.
' you wanna send someone close enough for you to invite to something you call a family dinner table to his death? He's just one per...'
I couldn't even complete my thought as the silent wolf spoke up, his tone was icy and... Really surprising.
He took a napkin from the side of his table and gently wiped his lips.
" Give me a minute." He said and disappeared in a blur.
" Huh?.." I couldn't help but utter, a look of confusion graced my face.
" What's the matter my little puppy.. were you worried?." Ryan taunted and I felt like throwing my cutleries at him.
With an embarrassed and pissed look I retorted pointing my dining knife at him.
" I'm not your puppy, it's Aubrey... Aubrey, goddammit, I'm not a dammed dog, stop calling me that!!!"
His sister chuckled, and the aqua blue haired dude burst into laughter, Ryan himself held a victorious smirk on his face.
Ryan was about to say something when a dark silhouette of a person appeared in a blur and I couldn't help but open my mouth in suprise.
The silent wolf was back to his position, wiping the blood off his hands with an handkerchief.
Ryan's laughter brought me back to reality... I was stunned but the rest didn't seem as fazed as I was.
" You managed to surpass your previous record, impressive, Tyler." Ryan complimented the wolf then turned his attention to me.
" Little pup, your reaction just now was priceless, you see... Tyler here is my retainer so of course it's a given he's strong just like me."
I resisted the urge to role my eyes as I stated at him mockingly.
" Wow, you never seem to fail to amaze me, Mr big bad alpha, never missing a chance to make yourself the star of the show! Cocky bastard."
I paused when I realized that I had spoken that last part out loud.
' curses!, I'm screwed.'
" Hmmm, is that what my cute little puppy thinks of me?"
He lingered for a moment then smiled
" Well you're not wrong, and your curses only seem to arouse me even more.. Ahh I can't wait to mark you and make you mine." He shamelessly announced.
I chocked on my wine, coughing rapidly, I stared at him with a murderous look.
" Y..You.. damned pervert, you're not touching me, I absolutely do not consent to it.
His laughter once again sounded in the open garden we were dining on as he seemed to enjoy teasing me.
****
Well the dinner went well without any other interruptions, turns out the dinning meeting was just a gathering of close families maybe relatives and an exclusive murderous retainer as an exemption.
'Damn what's it with that guy...' I couldn't help but wonder.
Suddenly I didn't feel so confident in my ability to escape anymore, but I wasn't gonna let that shake my resolve.
But the question right now was where I would escape to, I didn't have a home anymore, and I never had friends to begin with. I couldn't return back to the blood Fang pack, they were no more and it belonged to the Azure moon pack now.
' it's not like I would have gone back if they were still even existing.'
Currently I was taking a tour alone with no guide in the enormous mansion which belonged to that bastard wolf, it was surprising that he owned this place..
' His strength is no joke.. that's for certain.'
A sudden thought came to me and I felt foolish for not realising it sooner.
' if Ryan is the alpha of the pack then that could only mean two things, first either his dad had died and he had no choice but to take over or second, he killed his dad and took over as the alpha. '
" Well that's gonna be badass, but it couldn't be right?" I mused, casually walking within the hall, oblivious of where I was actually going.
I walked by a large room, various maids were inside all busy with work, some were cleaning the dishes, some were making the dishes and while some were... being bullied?
The scene in front of me reminded me of myself, a weak and pathetic existence who could only watch as I was being humiliated without being able to fight back.
' so... these stuff's do happen to normies huh? Well.. it's none of my business.'
I was about to walk away when I caught a glimpse of the face of the maid who was being bullied, it was the young girl who had begged me to attend Ryan's dinner meeting or whatever it was.
For some reason I felt really angry, I was enraged, I didn't know why I was, maybe it reminded me of myself or maybe I just couldn't stand seeing the young girl being treated that way.
It wasn't my right to interfere, after all I didn't know what my position in Ryan's life was but I found myself walking towards them with hurried steps.
As if noticing me or rather the scent of their alpha, they all turned around but I walked past them arriving in front of the small fragile girl who was trembling in fear, barely holding back her tears.
" A vampire? What's it doing here?"
" I..Is that the alpha's clothes."
" What is going on.. someone should inform lady Bethany."
They weren't even making an attempt to hide their disdain but welp.. I couldn't care less or more.
Ah.. I also forgot to mention this, part the reason why me and my brother were being bullied and hated by our pack members was because we both looked like vampires.
Pale skinned, red eyes and long white hair, yep... that's the look I had, so being called a vampire didn't surprise me much.
" Are you ok?." I asked, squatting as I held the girl's trembling hand.
She nodded and quickly took her hands off mine, wiping her tears away she was about to thank me but I interrupted her midway.
" I need a guide.." I told as she looked at me in suprise.
The girl was timid, she had an air of innocence around her, not the type Ryan sister had, Ryan sister was delicate and very frail looking, she had the kind of aura that'd make one want protect, her's was just pure innocence.
She quickly pointed to a maid behind me, recommending her as a better guide than herself.
' Tch! Dimwit... Just accept it, my kneel hurts!'
I rose with a sigh, looking at her somberly for a few minutes then a creepy grin found it's way to my face.
" You know for all the trouble you've caused me don't you think you should do at least this much?.. I mean because of you I had a hard time dealing Ryan and I had to endure a lot of taunts from that creep, so you're coming with me, aren't you?!" I asked again.
I could see the fear on her face, even though she quickly agreed to guide me I was sure she wasn't comfortable, Well it's not like I minded it, she was just too dense to realise that I was trying to help her.
In a way she reminded me of my little rascal, Eugene my younger brother.. the kid was also innocent and naive when it came to things that wasn't related to me in anyway.
My mood turned fowl as I remembered something unpleasant, I resisted the urge to clench my fist, the last thing I wanted was to scare this little dummy in front of me.
' Leo... I hope he burns in hell. '
I grabbed the little maid by her hand, attempting to leave the kitchen but then I was stopped in my tracks.
Out there at the entrance of the kitchen, a lady stood she had brown hair and blue eyes, an ample Bossom and a curvy figure, then she was dressed up like those overly spoilt nobles adorned with jewelries and all..
A frown appeared on her face as she gazed at me and I returned it with a scowl of my own.
" Oi.. you're in the way."
