Darius's POV
I brace myself, every nerve on edge, as I prepare for what feels like an inevitable war. My first move is getting Dora out of the line of fire. I've sent her to stay with her grandmother—not my mother, of course. The woman despises me, but for once, she appreciated that I put Dora's safety above my pride. She's always begged to take care of Dora herself, yet I'd been stubborn, allowing only visits. This time, I made the exception, and she seemed pleased enough. I even sent a full team of bodyguards to escort Dora, making sure she'd be even safer. Besides, her grandmother's house is closer to her school anyway.
The car is silent until Zain, my brother and currently my driver breaks the quiet.
"It's not a bad decision," he says, glancing over. "But I'm still not clear on why you really did it."
