Allison's POV
"We're going to the house today!" Jessica's voice cuts through the air as she bursts into the room like a whirlwind, her energy as sharp as a blade. Yasmin and I jump in surprise, our peaceful morning shattered by her stormy presence. She's been avoiding me for days, but now here she is, full of venom.
"Chop, chop. Daddy doesn't like to be kept waiting. Or should I say, your *new owner*?" she adds with a twisted smirk, arms crossed, eyes gleaming with spite. The words sting, but I don't have time to process them as Yasmin and I scramble off the bed, fumbling to gather our things.
"Can we at least take a shower?" I ask, trying to keep my voice steady, refusing to rise to her bait. I know she's hurt, angry because of my choice, but it doesn't make her cruel words easier to bear.
