"Here. I got you a phone..." he says, pressing the sleek device into my hand, his smile curling like he's done me the biggest favor in the world. "It's programmed to only contact me. Try calling anyone else, and it won't work." His eyes lock onto mine, a flicker of amusement dancing in them. "I'm doing this because I think you need it."
**He thinks I need it?** My jaw tightens, my teeth sinking into my tongue to keep the sharp retort that's clawing at the back of my throat. I can't give him the satisfaction of a response, not when he's this smug.
