Allison's POV
"Hi, baby girl... Why do you look so sad?" Thessa bursts into my room without knocking, tossing a small bag of clothes onto my bed. Her bright smile could light up the entire mansion. I won't lie—I missed her, just a little.
"I'm fine," I lie through my teeth.
She arches a brow, not buying it for a second. "Hmm, sure you are. But let me tell you something—you're lucky. Special, even. Darius fucking likes you. Do you have any idea how rare that is? I've only ever seen that man in love once, and it ended in disaster. But with you? He's so open, so..."
"Thessa." My voice cuts through her enthusiasm like a knife. "I'm not interested in Darius. I'm only here because I'm his prisoner."
