Darius's POV
"Madam who?"
"It's Miss Sarah, sir," the woman says smoothly, stepping forward with a confident smile, one that hints she's got me exactly where she wants me.
I give her a nod, sizing her up. There's something unnerving about how easily she switched from the pleasant, unassuming teacher I saw earlier to the woman standing before me now. It's as if she shed that identity like a second skin, and what's left is sharper, more calculating.
"Hmmm," I grunt, my eyes sweeping over her again, still trying to reconcile the two versions of this woman.
