Qiao Xi grabbed Shu Xue's hand and looked at her as she spoke, "You have heard it, I have a heavy responsibility to keep you here."
Shu Xue sobbed hard, her voice heavy with nasal tears, "Even you are siding with that scumbag."
Qiao Xi smiled gently, "How could that be? If he truly lets you down, I'll scold him."
Qiao Xi pulled her along to the hotel's leisure area, where an enthusiastic server brought them two glasses of lemon water.
Qiao Xi pulled out a tissue and handed it to Shu Xue.
Shu Xue took the tissue and wiped her cheeks, then tossed it aside.
Her mouth felt parched, and taking a sip of the lemon water, she found it sour—just like her mood.
She nearly spat it out.
"Server, could we get a cup of warm water here?" Qiao Xi raised her voice to call out.
The server apologized and poured a cup of warm water.
After drinking a big gulp, Shu Xue's anger dissipated quite a bit; however, her mood became even more complicated.
