'Coming out of Mateo's room?' Rafael thought as he watched Ian.
But that wasn't the most disturbing part. What unsettled Rafael was the fact that Ian looked disheveled. With the growing confusion in the underworld, Rafael's mind instantly linked it to one thing—sex.
Why would Ian be caught doing that with Mateo? As Rafael's thoughts spiraled out of control, he forgot to step back into the room after spotting Ian, remaining rooted in place until Ian approached him.
"Do you mind retreating to the room so we can talk better?" Ian asked, his voice snapping Rafael back to reality.
"Huh?" Rafael made a sound, his mind sluggishly returning from the depths of his thoughts.
Instead of responding further, Ian stepped into the room, gesturing for Rafael to follow him.
Once inside, Rafael stood before Ian, questions swirling in his mind. As Rafael opened his mouth to speak, Ian beat him to it.
