As they continued to stroll along the beach, Joanna and Miguel chatted about their future plans and what they wanted to do the rest of their trip.
"Hey, I was thinking," Joanna said, her voice thoughtful. "Maybe we should turn our phones back on. I know we wanted to disconnect from the world, but it's been a few days now, and I'm a little worried about work."
Miguel nodded in agreement. "Yeah, you're probably right," he said.
With a nod of agreement, the two of them pulled out their phones and turned them back on, the familiar chirp of notifications filling the air.
Joanna giggled as she saw the flood of messages from her friends. "Wow, they really missed me," she said, her voice light with amusement.
Miguel chuckled and shook his head. "They just can't handle not having you around," he said, a teasing grin on his face.
