The next morning, the air inside the woods changed into a still, heavy atmosphere with the heavy scent of damp earth and pine.
Lisa walked slowly down a narrow path that led deeper into the woods, her footsteps barely making a dent at the soft woods around. She wasn't looking forward to this meeting, but she knew she didn't have a choice.
When she reached the pond, she noticed her there—sitting nonchalantly on a wood bench, dressed in all black, as usual. The lady didn't look up as Lisa approached, but she didn't need to. Her presence was commanding enough to make Lisa sense like she was being watched, scrutinized, even when no words were being spoken.
As Lisa got closer, she observed the men in suits lurking inside the woods across the pond. They were hidden, however not properly enough. Lisa could still see them, their dark figures blending into the shadows, usually there to ensure that the woman was in no way truly by herself.
