"FOR HE'S THE HERO, PERSEVERANCE!" The three sisters cried out as Perseverance stepped into view. His star and striped cape blew in the wind. The Red Tail colors stood out radiantly as he unveiled the little project he and Madie Sue had been talking about.
"Forged from the metal of the Liberty Bell, the wreckage of the Twin Tower beams, and strengthened with Greater Ottawan steel, The American Dream, Sledgeforge Hammer and I will put an end to the villains harassing you Texans, ONCE AND FOR ALL!" Announced Perseverance as he raised the ten-foot long, seventy-pound, combination of American hopes, dreams, sorrows and triumphs, over his head single-handedly.
The Texan citizens watched as the hero locked the hammer on his back, crouched down and leapt into their sky yelling, "Tuskegee's Limit!" Many stood up and watched him soar over head on, riding on a Spirit P-51 Mustang heading to the border.
"Come on Red Hat Ladies! Let's go give these Texans a reason to cheer! Triple time, march!" Ordered the Lieutenant Colonel. As the powered-armored 428th Division rushed past Texans, many of which stood up and cheered, others grabbed rifles and pistols and chased after them, all wanting help, all chanting, "Don't Mess With Texas!"
As Perseverance and the 428th reached the border with the civilian army of Texas, the Texans got a good look as to why President Keith wasn't helping with first aid like their doctors or words of comfort like Galvin Harstead. President Keith was in the front line, wearing his Lonestar Armor fighting the villains back.
"Keith, I'd back up if I were you." Radioed the Ottawan Brigadier General.
As he did, Perseverance put the hammer in swing position and lunged at the first villain rushing the seemingly open spot. "J.Robinson's HOME RUN!" He cried out as the American Dream hammer came screaming down into the villain's chest, launching villain miles in the other direction. The other villains stopped dead in their tracks as the American Hero stood up, hammer in ready position.
"Sorry boys, but haven't you heard? Never mess with Texas and never come between an American and their dream. NOW THEN! WHO'S NEXT?!"
The villains looked amongst themselves and all charged at him at once.
"Fine by me... I'LL TAKE YOU ALL ON!" Perseverance yelled as he rushed them. The second and third went down with ease, but managed to get the hammer away from him. The villains grinned believing the hammer was the only reason the three had been blown away so easily. They were sorely mistaken. The hero seemed to pause for a moment. "You four ready? It's time we unveil our punching strength, come on vestiges, don't fail me now!"
The four vestiges nodded and the hero cocked his fist back and fired up his new move. "TORQUE IMPACT GEAR OVERLOAD!" Yelled Perseverance as he fused the facets of John Henry's Epicyclic Gear Strength, Lemuel Curtis's Centrifugal Torque-Impact Recoil, and Charlie Wiggins's Torque Overload. As the double-fisted punches made solid contact on two villains, they went flying to the rushing in villains behind them, launching them all flying.
President Keith watched Perseverance, mouth agape at the raw power the hero had. However, Perseverance wasn't the only metahuman on the American's side. Keith rushed after him as part of the Lonestar armor cracked and crumbled to the ground below. However, it was unknown to them Lord Rockefeller had been stationed there in an effort to crack the American Defenses. However, the entire New World Order was under the impression Perseverance or rather the Ghost of Ottawa to them, was dead. Keith charged into the middle of the battle and fired up his ability. "LONESTAR..... REMEMBER THE ALAMO!" However, as Keith's uppercut was about to make contact with a villain his size, a hulked-out Rockefeller took the blow like it was nothing.
The tyrant-descendant of the oil-tycoon laughed a deep, bloodcurdling laugh. "I think not Keith.... Standard... Oil's... Monopoly." said the tyrant, excruciatingly slowly. However, the punch Keith received seemed to octuple in power as it threw him a mile into the air. As he fell vomiting blood, Perseverance leapt up and caught him.
"What's... this? A... new... play... thing... for... me... to... BREAK!" Rockefeller rushed Perseverance who'd just landed and set Keith down. As the massive Rockefeller rushed him, John, Stagolee, and Charlie spoke to the hero within his mind.
"He's a big one. All that mass gotta have deep fried that brain of his like a Carnival Fairs' funnel cake." Said Charlie
"Yeah, but the bigger they are, the harder they fall. We got your back, hero." Added John.
"Seems like it's us three, Perseverance. Go ahead 'n' show this monster what we're packing." Snickered Stagolee, barely able to contain his excitement.
As Perseverance fired up their facets, no green and purple eyes took over the hero. This time, the green and purple voodoo energy coiled around the hero's arms and leads. "V-Steam Transfer Powerstroke." Said the hero just before his clenched fist made contact with Rockefeller's massive fist. The 428th saw that this move was different. Normally a hit with a name like that would have blown even Rothschild away. However, Rockefeller seemed to lose all of his swing speed and momentum, slamming feet first onto the ground. The villainous tyrant looked bewildered and utterly confused by what had just happened.
"What... happened?" Asked Rockefeller.
Perseverance chuckled, "My turn." As the hero cocked his arm down as if it were a pinball slammer aimed at Rockefeller's head, black and white arcs of energy shocked the ground with an intensity that even lightning could achieve. The voodoo energy, acting like compressed firing springs released their power with a force never achieved by mankind. As the hero fired the pinball uppercut into Rockefeller's chin, the tyrannical villain seemed to vanish in the blink of an eye. Everyone looked confused until a back pressure splash of the tyrant's blood sprayed everyone behind Perseverance.
Everyone was dead silent for a moment, before a Texan started hootin and hollerin. "HE GOT 'EM IN ONE PUNCH!" Then everyone roared into a sonorous wave of cheers. "Persevere! Persevere! Persevere! chanted the Texans and 428th as the hero held his fist above his head, standing victorious over the villains and their tyranny, freeing the people of the Confederation of the Texan Republic.
