Half an hour later, Elizabeth began to fuss. Tilly walked Cora through the diaper change. Then she explained the baby's feeding needs in detail and they prepared a bottle of blood for her to drink. The baby's cries ticked up as the bottle was prepared leading her to believe the child already had vampire senses.
Currently, the baby was getting two or three ounces of blood or formula every two hours alternating. They could not be mixed since it was important that she get adequate quantities of each for the first several weeks. Cora had questions about the feeding but let it slide hoping the knowing would give her answers later.
She sat down to feed her daughter, incredibly awed as the tiny person fussed and made a bunch of noise before settling in to drink with frustrated gasps. As soon as she started to drink, her angry face smoothed out and she was completely content again.
