Cora groaned as she opened her eyes and sat up. Her whole body was sore. Surprisingly the areas she expected to be most sore were no worse than the rest of her body, however. She glanced at the clock on the nightstand then did a double take at the windows as she realized that night had fallen a while ago.
More than seven hours had passed since her daughter was born and she had slept through most of it. She needed sleep, but it still felt like a lot of time to miss. The room was mostly dark though it was easy to see that she was alone in her bedroom.
Cora climbed from the bed and moved to the closet rummaging through until she found a change of clothes that she thought would be loose and comfortable. She stripped in the bathroom after turning on the shower. A sideways glance in the mirror caused her to stop and stare. She could barely tell she had been pregnant. Her body had almost completely returned to normal.
