Jared turned down a gravel driveway only marked by a gap in the trees and a large mailbox meant to hold oversized packages. The driveway went on for a quarter of a mile before stopping at a large rustic cabin with a wraparound porch and a two-car garage which opened when they pulled nearby.
To their right was Lake Huron down the hill which they could see through the gaps in the trees and where a walkway had been constructed down to the beach. Up the hill to the left was a massive green shop surrounded by a densely wooded area. The cabin itself was incredibly rustic and sprawling.
Jared pulled into the garage and shut off the engine. They both climbed from the truck feeling unsure.
At the store earlier Cora had remarked that the temperature was quite cold today. Here at the house, it seemed even colder as she climbed from the truck. The weather said that it was forty degrees, but she would have guessed colder.
