Margo leaned back to look Cora in the eye. Her expression betrayed her alarm. Vampire hunter groups were rare, but they were always fanatical and extremely dangerous. Entire clans had fallen to these humans.
Some hunting parties were driven by religious fanaticism. Others were seeking revenge for a fallen loved one they believed vampires to be responsible for. There were even hunting parties based solely on the sport of taking down a super powered creature. Margo wasn't aware there were any remaining in the states though.
Cora watched Margo closely. "We need to go right now."
Margo nodded and took Cora's hand. She led her over to their duffel bag by the front door and picked it up and slung it over her shoulder cross body style. There wasn't too much in it but there was enough to confirm their identity to the hunters.
