Cora needed time to accept this new reality Jared had dropped on her. She needed time to accept what would likely become of her. If these vampires were determined to turn her into one of them there wasn't much she could do to stop them, but she couldn't face that now.
Cora had told Jared this and he promised to buy her as much time as he could. He would give her time to accept whatever fate had in store for her and he would try to accept his own fate as well. Cora vowed that she wouldn't let them harm him.
Jared wasn't convinced that was something she could promise. Vampires didn't like being disobeyed, especially at this level. Either way, he would make this right for Cora if he could. He called this their 'Farewell to the Sun Tour.' Cora laughed but it had a slightly desperate tone to it.
