Elric West is a successful man, who has achieved everything in his life like good family, status, prestige and power. He built his empire from scratch, he being the only person left in his family who fought for bread and butter. Early in his life, he realized the harsh realities of life and came to a conclusion i.e., "no one in this world will help me, I'm the only person I can rely on, I'm the only person I can trust".
Filled with this principle, Elric West never left his kindness, in fact there are many people who benefited by his kindness, was able to solve many and numerous problems in his life, built his empire from scratch, he is an entrepreneur, writer and software engineer, and a man of many hats, he is a self-made man. Having achieved everything in his life, almost solving all the problems that life has thrown at him, a life without regrets, was waiting for death.
Elric West is on deathbed in his house, with wrinkled face, almost bald head left with countable dark hairs and face devoid of any life energy, surrounded by his family members, sons, daughter-in-laws, daughters, son-in-laws, grandsons, and granddaughter. While all his family members made a visit and spoke consoling words to soothe Elric West's soul. While leaving his room, one of the grandsons gives him a dark box. Elric West while receiving the box proudly looks at him thinking his grandkids will continue his lineage even after his death. What more could he ask. After his family members after his family members existed his room, have started discussing how to divide the assets among themselves, smiling at those discussions, he waved his hand towards wetnurse to leave him and to close the door
His room became quiet and peaceful, focusing his blurred vision on the item in hand, looking at it with both hands, made him realize that he was not able to understand the dark box. Long back, the dark box was given to him by his grandfather, it accompanied him throughout his journey, trying to understand the dark box in his hands. He is remembering things his grandfather said to him about the dark box.
The dark box is sharp on a rectangular cuboid, with sharp edges, each with four inches wide and six inches long. The material seems to be metallic but his experimentation in early days couldn't confirm this theory. According to his grandfather, this dark box is not just a simple box but rather filled with intricacies and mysteries of magic. Elric lost interest in the magic box in the middle phase of his life. His whole life he was not able to open the box. He tried different ways to open the box using fingers, two hands and various tools like hammer, diamond cutter, etc., but the box withstood many impacts and there was not even a scratch on it. This puzzled him alot in his youthful days and as the time passed he slowly forgot about it
Elric West, suddenly remembering his grandfather's words, takes the dark box into left hand, and with his right hand index finger, slowly rotates clockwise around the top layer of the box thinking "how would his life be? if he chooses to leave out kindness from his life?"
Unbeknownst to him, the left away sharp edge on the top layer tears his skin and a drop of blood spills on the dark box. The dark box lifts in the air and glows beautifully in red color, The front page opens up, all the pages shutters and a beam of light full of magic energy enters into his brain. The dark box and his soul vanishes from the world.
