Chapter 10 - Unveiling the Weapon

With his spear's overwhelming speed, Elaric swings so fast that it almost falls outside his grip.

He gasps for air feeling his muscles heat up as if he had lava inside his body

Smiling in his heart seeing a ray of hope, "Good job kid. At this pace, you will master all weapons within a few months. But your body is too small to handle the power of your mana so rather than mastering all weapons you ought to train your body first."

"So now it's the time for my training arc."

"Ok, sir."

Hearing Elaric's robotic answer yet again Drytan begins to imagine how wonderful it would be if he could turn Elaric into a mindless killing machine.

A year passes by.

Cedric enters the office, "Sir young master has mastered the claymore as well."

"It seems you have finally gotten used to all the surprises. Let's head out then. The boy can finally start to learn combat."

The two head to Elaric's direction

"Elaric take of your clothes off."

Elaric covers his chest with a clear expression of disgust on his face.

Drytan sighs with his hand on his head, "It's to see which weapon you are the most compatible with."

Laughing it off Elaric proceeds to use all forms of every weapon with Drytan watching from the sidelines.

Exhausted and gasping for air, "So, which will be the best for me?"

"Considering your muscle structure alone a claymore would suit you but since your element increases speed, not your strength a combination of bow and a simple will suit you better."

"From today onwards start learning actual combat as well."

"Sir before that could I first go meet my parents?"

Drytan frowns and looks over to Cedric, "Fine, But Cedric will go along with you, and tomorrow head straight to the forest near the estate and begin your training right away."

Elaric feels as if he is standing on clouds, "Okay sir thank you very much!"

"This might be for the better. After seeing the wealth they have gained from their child they must have changed. So, he might not want to live with them for long. Since I have paid them to keep their mouths shut."

Excited to see his parents after a year the two head out right ahead.

Yearning for the warmth he had felt Elaric heads with a wide smile.

Knock knock

"Mr. and Mrs. Weaver are you home?"

A soft voice answers, "Yes! Sir Cedric how is my son?!"

As she opens the door she looks over to the boy that is beside Cedric and sees her son.

She rushes to embrace her child, dropping to her knees, holding her son so tightly as if to never let go. Tears flowed freely as she whispered, "My sweet boy, I've missed you so much."

"I missed you too Mom..." he cried out, his voice cracking with the weight of a year's worth of longing. He clings to her, squeezing his eyes shut as the emotions surge through him. Finally, he was home.

As he leaves her embrace he notices Elowen's stomach bulging.

With widened eyes, "Mom, Are you having a baby?!"

"Yes dear, You are going to have a sibling in 5 months!"

Elaric feels a sense of euphoria as now he is closer to everything that he wished for in his previous life.

With tears in his eyes, he falls into his mother's embrace again.

The long-awaited day passes by in the blink of an eye and Elaric once again leaves with a heavy heart not knowing how his mother has been tainted as a whore throughout the viscounty.

Leaving his home he asks Cedric to notify him immediately of his sister's birth.

Cedric agrees and they both head straight to the sylvan forest.

As the two-step down the carriage, Cedric notices the nervousness on Elaric's face.

With an endearing smile, "His talent made me forget he is still a child."

"Do not worry young master you are more than strong enough to deal with monsters here."

"Excuse me sir but I think that you have forgotten that I am a 6-year-old."

Hysterically laughing, "I am aware young master but you are not a normal 6-year-old, not remotely. The training you have completed is not the average training by any means. Even those considered to be geniuses only complete such training at 14 years old."

"What? Fourteen? Are you sure?"

"I understand your confusion young master since you have been training alone but young Miss Sylara who just recently awakened at age 8 is considered a genius even Master Drytan who awakened around 10 is one of the strongest in the country. Now do you have an idea about how much of a monster you are?"

"Yeah, that helped me quite a bit. All right let's go!"

As they walk into the forest, "Now young master enhance your sword."

With his hands slightly shaking he takes out the sword that he took from the training ground steeling his resolve to kill.

As he enhances his weapon the sword illuminates a bright light revealing a spirit with bark-like skin and glowing eyes squinting because of the light.

Elaric is startled upon seeing the creature that looks like a ghost out of a horror movie.

He quickly applies mana to his joints and slashes the wraith into two.

Feeling a sense of achievement Elaric looks over to Cedric as if a son looked at his father to look for his reaction. He sees a shocked expression on Cedric as if he had seen the wraith for the first time.

Cedric was shocked out of his mind, "It is certain. This boy is the sword bestowed upon humanity to slay demons!"

"Ah Cedric are you all right? Is this your first time seeing this... thing?"

He calms himself. "No, young master. I was shocked because of another reason. I am afraid we have to head to the estate right away. Let's go"

"Why? I thought we were supposed to train until the evening?"

"I will explain to you later young master for now let's go."

Still unsure of the reason Elaric heads back.

Arriving at the estate Cedric escorts Elaric to his room and rushes to Drytan's office.

Cedric barges into the room without knocking.

Drytan was caught by surprise by his aide's behavior, "What is it this time Cedric?"

"You were right Master! You were right all along!"

"I am right about a lot of things. Which one are you talking about?"

"About Elaric. You were right about him! He truly is the blessing from the gods themselves!"

Amused from Cedric's remarks, "What is it? Get to the point."

"He slashed the Sylvan Wraiths in two."

"What?! Of course, he did. If he wasn't able to do at least that I wouldn't have sent him out in the first place."

"I understand that sir. Let me rephrase, Normally we just wait until the wraiths come out at the last minute to attack. Then we kill them, yes? But the wraiths revealed themselves right after Elaric's light rays shined on them!"

"What? So his light itself is an enemy of those with demonic energy?! And those puny wraiths barely have a hint of demon's blood so if even they got their main ability stolen what will become of those with high content of demon's blood!"

He started to laugh with a small sound, growing into something dark and twisted. It was filled with years of pain and anger, now sharpened by the satisfaction of finally having his revenge within reach.

"Good job Cedric, If the demons catch even a slight glimpse of Elaric's power they will go all out to kill him. Cancel the plans of going into the forest. Order the knights to bring monsters into the estate. Tell them I enjoy torturing monsters or something but make sure no one catches a wind of this."

"Understood, sir."
