Chapter 4 - The Onset of Ragnarok (2)

The strong winds that had battered the land and damaged several small buildings have now ceased.

The people, who had previously been panicking about a major storm, were no longer anxious.

In the sky, another event was unfolding. The clouds, which had appeared split, were now forming a gigantic tunnel that extended towards the earth, accompanied by a loud rumbling sound.

People looked up at the sky to witness the event, which seemed to be something they had never seen before.

The rumbling lasted only a few seconds, and then from within the tunnel in the sky, a mass of black clouds emerged and descended towards the earth.

Fengyan, who had been observing the situation, sensed that something big was about to happen.

The mass of black clouds grew closer to the people, and one person then realized that what was falling from the sky was not just a cloud of smoke, but rather, furry beings with wolf-like heads and other creatures never before seen by the people.

"Hey, something's wrong. Isn't that a living creature falling from the sky?"

Someone with excellent vision informed others of what they had seen. Shortly after, people understood that what was descending towards them were living creatures they had never seen before, and there were so many that it looked like a swarm of black clouds.

The previously calm situation turned into mass panic again. People fled in droves, abandoning their vehicles on the streets. Many also sought shelter by entering nearby buildings.

Fengyan, feeling a premonition of impending danger, immediately urged Bravo to hurry and find a place to take cover.

Fengyan then remembered a bunker behind his house and quickly headed there, approximately 10 kilometers away from their current location.

The bunker was built for a group of people, initially intended to provide refuge from disasters or wars.

"Bravo, let's go. It seems something terrible is about to happen."

Fengyan and Bravo ran with all their strength towards the bunker behind Fengyan's house.

Fengyan's parents had passed away two years ago, and he had no siblings, so he lived alone in his house.

As Fengyan and Bravo sprinted towards the bunker, the creatures in the sky grew closer, and people could clearly see them.

The first creatures seen were wolf-like humanoids, with the lower half resembling a human and the upper half resembling a wolf. There were also creatures that looked like short, thin humans with red bodies, which made them unpleasant to look at. Another type was humanoid with a muscular build, approximately 3 meters tall, with green skin and horns on their heads.

These were the only three species of creatures seen in great numbers.

Fengyan and Bravo ignored what the creatures were and continued to run as fast as they could.

Boom!

Boom!

Boom!

Some of the creatures had already landed, creating craters from their impact.

"Arghh... Help! Anyone, please help!"

"Arghh....."

Screams and cries for help were heard shortly after the creatures landed.

"Kckckck...kckckkck"

"Grrrr....Grrrr...."

The newly arrived creatures attacked the humans nearby without warning or hesitation.

"Argh... Help...."

"Argh... Help....."

"Argh... Help...."

The cries of agony and pleas for help spread throughout the city of Seth as the creatures landed on the ground.

The entire city was thrown into chaos, becoming a sea of human screams for help, and in an instant, many people died from the attacks of the creatures that had come from the sky.

Bang!

A punch attack was thrown at Fengyan and sent her flying away. Bravo, who saw this, immediately shivered in fear and was unable to move in place.

"Crack..."

Bravo, who had been so frightened and unable to move himself, now died with his head split open due to the attack from Orchi, which was the name of the demon that had a tall height and green skin color.

Fengyan, who was hit by Orchi's blow, fell to the ground and was unable to move as blood oozed out of her head.

"Is this the end for me?"

As Fengyan lay dying and seemed to have little time left, he wondered whether this was the end of his life. He pondered the creature that had just descended from the sky and why it was attacking him and others.

Frightened by the prospect of his own death, Fengyan closed his eyes, resigned to his fate.

The city was now in ruins due to the arrival of these lower-tier demons. Many buildings had been destroyed, leaving only debris behind.

Government troops had been deployed, but even firearms were ineffective against the newly arrived beings, causing the government to panic and quickly evacuate officials to safety.

Unbeknownst to everyone, this disaster was not confined to the Southern Union Country but was occurring worldwide.

With hundreds of millions already dead from the lower-tier demons sent to initiate the Ragnarok disaster, the selection of heir candidates was about to begin.

The gods, having chosen their heirs, were now ready to bestow their powers upon them.

"Ragnarok will begin, and the chosen humans will confront the demons responsible for this disaster and save humanity."

"This is a war between humans and demons to preserve your civilization."

"Good luck to you humans in defending your civilization!"

A voice then echoed to every human on Earth without exception.

"What? We're going to fight demons?"

"This is absurd!"

"Yes, you're right. This is absurd!"

After hearing this, many humans thought it was nonsense and didn't believe it. How could they possibly fight the demon race that caused Ragnarok? It seemed ridiculous.

[Congratulations! You have been chosen as the next Nameless God.]

A voice sounded in Fengyan's head shortly after the announcement from the sky about the human-demon Ragnarok war.

[Your body will soon be healed.]

[Your body will undergo evolution to the next stage.]

[Process complete. Congratulations to the host for undergoing evolution.]

Soon, Fengyan, who had been on the brink of death, was healed and in perfect health, feeling even more vigorous and energetic than before.
