Wolfgang and Russell stumbled to the doorframe of the living room, both panting heavily as they tried to catch their breath. Maverick, seated near the window with a baby girl cradled in his arms, turned his gaze toward them. He blinked, his expression calm but slightly curious.
"Is something happening?" Maverick asked. "Why are you both running like that?"
Wolfgang elbowed Russell in the ribs, making him grunt. "Brother's life is in danger," Wolfgang declared dramatically.
Russell, still catching his breath, turned to glare at him. "What do you mean?"
Wolfgang pointed at the baby girl Maverick was holding. "The captain's moved on. He's no longer adoring my brother. He has a baby now!"
Russell furrowed his brow, irritation mixing with exhaustion. "What are you blabbering about? That's not his baby, of course!"
Wolfgang shrugged, his tone entirely too casual. "How do you know it's not his baby?"
