As dawn broke, Maverick was stirred by the warm rays of sunlight and, as usual, the heavy, familiar weight of Julius sprawled across him. Glancing over Julius's shoulder at the empty space on the other side of the bed, Maverick sighed.
So much for the larger bed; no matter how spacious it was, he still woke up on the narrow edge with Julius clinging to him.
In a low tone, Maverick muttered, "Wake up."
Julius stirred but refused to open his eyes, tightening his hold and murmuring, "Let's sleep a bit longer, Maverick."
Maverick shifted, resisting against Julius's strength. "I have work to do, and so do you, so wake up right away."
Julius groaned, pulling him even closer. "I took the day off. I'll be back at work again tomorrow, so stay here with me." He held Maverick like a bolster, muttering, "At any rate, I'm not letting you go."
Resigned to Julius's iron grip, Maverick sighed. "Fine. Five more minutes."
