Chapter 2
I cannot stop thinking about you.
Several lonely hours later, the carriage got to the kingdom of Enchantara, it was two Kingdoms away from hers.
Mia was somehow happy that the carriage's curtain covered her from seeing the Kingdom of Dreamoria, which came before it, because she had heard frightening things about it.
The carriage dropped off a tired, frustrated, shocked Mia and her belongings, in front of the magic centre and she watched devastatingly, how the men started the carriage back.
The Kingdom of Enchantara was almost pitch black, than where she was from.
The centre of magic was built here because the land was said to have a good formation energy. At least, that was what she heard, but here she stood with a chilly feeling, it was particularly cold and the sky was not doing a good justice either. It seemed, it was getting darker, by every passing second, she looked at it.
She wasn't even seeing anyone in sight, what happened? Was there an apocalypse? It was way too quiet for her liking.
"Hello" she heard a voice, as she looked up to see a dark-haired young man.
How did he get here, without her knowing?
She was lost for words at how handsome he looked, he had piercing brown eyes and he was wearing a black robe, for training.
Could he be Tavon? She asked, herself.
"You are new here?" The man asked her.
"Uhm yes, I just came" she said, finally snapping out from her reverie.
"I thought so because I have never seen a beautiful lady like you before and with a very fine dress" he said and she chuckled.
"Thank you" she replied, blushing and also remembering her failed attempt to get her father with the dress but it did not succeed.
Look at it, winning over a handsome man, now.
"Deep your hand in there" he said, as he pointed to a red, standing box.
"What?" Mia asked, slightly confused and scared, as she glanced at him for confirmation that he just said that and he nodded, giving her a look, that said "go on"
What is the worst that could happen, anyways?
He could not possibly do anything to her, right?
She dipped her hand hesitantly into the box and brought out a little black plaque that had a number- 26 and her name, boldly written on it.
"It is a number box that chooses students into random numbers and that is your room number. I will call the guards to come help you with your belongings" he said, as he clapped twice and two men immediately vanished in front of them, to her amazement.
"This is a new scholar, help with her belongings" he told them, as they got to work.
Mia almost bawled her eyes out, when she heard him say 'scholar', it couldn't possibly be her.
"Oh, thank you very much, I really appreciate it," she said, bowing.
'If he is indeed the mage I am looking for, he is certainly nice' She thought.
"You are most welcome, I am Garrick and you?"
"I am Mia," she replied, trying to keep up her smile when she found out he was not the one.
"What a beautiful name, Mia. I have practice now, I hope to see you later"
"Me too"
"That is great. Now, all you have to do is to follow the guards" he told her, smiling, before he walked away, she admired his tall physique from behind.
Mia followed the guards, as they took her belongings to house 26, she could not believe how beautiful the centre was, it had the old fashioned settings but it was great.
"It is okay, thank you for your help. You can just leave it here" she said to the two men who were glaring at her, it was so uncomfortable.
When they heard her words, they simply vanished out of sight.
"Phew" Mia heaved from nervousness.
"What was the face for?" She asked herself, sighing.
She faced the door, knocking on it once but there was no response which prompted her to knock again and the door was immediately opened by a girl about her age, wearing a black and white poker dot dress, with her long black hair, plaited to the back.
"He…llo?" she said, obviously confused about her coming.
"Oh, hello I am a new student assigned to this room" Mia said with a smile.
"Can I see your pass?" The girl asked inquisitively and Mia gave a nod, giving her the little black plaque.
It took her a moment before her face curved into a smile
"Gracious, I am so sorry, you are welcome" she said, as she hugged Mia.
"It is fine, thank you"
"Here, I will help with the bags, come in" she said, as she took her bag going in with Mia, following suit.
"I never thought we would be getting a new addition soon, it is nice to see a different face" the girl told her, with a smile.
"Well, thank you" Mia said again, as her eyes lit up.
She thought it was just a normal room but was surprised to see it was a door leading to a white magnificent tree house, adorned with yellow lights.
It was beautiful, with coloured rooms divided into five forms, scattered all over the tree.
"Welcome to white house 26" the girl said, grinning.
"This…" Mia wanted to say something but was short of words.
"Magnificent, is it not?" The girl asked, smiling.
"It is," Mia said and chuckled.
"I said the same exact thing when I first got here"
Mia chuckled and uttered a "wow"
The girl helped her with her bag, as they both went up in the direction of one of coloured rooms, it was the peach-colored room.
"And, this is yours," the girl gestured, as she pointed at the door.
"I will leave you to get everything set. Most of the girls are not around but you will get to see them soon, and… before I forget, to make it simple next time, you do not have to stress yourself knocking, you should show your pass to the door and it will automatically open to you" she said and Mia nodded
"My name is Shamika but you can call me Mika if you want and it was a pleasure meeting you, fifth maiden" Shamika said with a smile, as she bowed.
"It was nice meeting you too" Mia said to her, as she smiled and bowed too, watching Shamika leave, after.
"See you later"
Finally facing the fact that she was alone, she opened the door and stood there, stunned. Peach was not her favorite color but it was so lovely that she almost cried tears of joy.
Everything in her room was peach perfect, the closet, the two adorable yellow mixed with peach colored lamps, the bed, the chairs, the flowers, simply perfect like a princess's, it was ethereal.
She glided in, closing the doors, throwing her bag in different directions as she ran to the bed. It was so soft and fluffy, it made her want to sleep and she did sleep.
****
Few hours later, she awoke from her deep slumber. Remembering she had not arranged her dresses and items, she opened the magnificent closet and was shocked to see a ray of dresses already.
'What! The school gives free dresses too?! And what? What else?!' She thought, as she could not wait to find out.
After lazily arranging her remaining dresses and admiring the small cottage on top of the tree, she came out of her room to also look around the environment, it had beautiful flowers.
This centre looks dead on the outside but amazing on the inside, it made her remember the quote that said:
"Not all that glitters are gold"
After a while, It was so quiet that she felt all lonely.
Here, there are no maids to do anything for you, you learn to do things yourself.
She wondered where the rest of the girls in the other rooms went. Probably, taking lessons.
She walked off from her room, as she opened the main door to go outside and noticed the gush of wind that almost whipped her away. She just wants to talk to people, since she is not used to staying quiet.
Even the weather seems different on both sides.
She came out of it, closing the door perfectly as she started walking down the path she saw.
There was not a single person, still.
She glanced at a flowery path by her left and continued walking down the path, going forward, getting scared by every passing minute. She intended to turn back but her eyes caught a figure sitting on a long chair, it was really a person! covered in a black cloak.
Thank Goodness, she thought everyone had left her in this world again, she suddenly remembered the scary story, her sister- Carina had told her, that there was a time in the world where everyone disappeared but some people remained, she found it hard to believe though, but she does not want something like that to happen.
She strutted towards the figure. A huge forest was behind the person.
When she got close, she noticed the person was a "He" due to his clothes.
He was sitting with his head resting by the side of the chair. She could not see his face clearly, due to the hood covering him but he had fiery white wolf long hair.
She gulped as she sat by the other side of the bench awkwardly.
At least if the world is really gone, let her stay with a fellow survivor, it will make life much easier because she is so powerless.
If she thought the wind was cold a minute ago, sitting here was freezing, how did this stranger manage to stay here?
Meanwhile, the white-haired young man named Tavon, immediately felt someone's presence, when she drew near and sat down but did not say anything because it was not his business, not until the person started talking to him.
"Mr, are you not cold? Where are the rest of the people?" Tavon sighed, as he heard it was a girl's voice, did one of those attention seeking maidens, follow him here again?
He is going to kill them this time!
He just sat here, away in his own world, slightly tired from yesterday's night deed and he can not get a simple rest?!
Even their master would not let him rest at day time, what is it with everyone?!
Why are they seeking to annoy him?!
Tavon opened his eyes, as he removed the hood from his face. He turned his head to face her with a glare but… but was met with a pair of hazel eyes.
Her eyes… They were a radiating brown sun that seemed to give me warmth.
He shrieked internally from her beauty, what in the demon world was this?! Where did she come from?! She is not real, right? She must be a figment of his imagination.
Probably, the demon is making him see a beautiful woman today, to get him to feel stupid sensations.
Mia, on the other hand, was gawking at the handsomeness of this glaring man. Never did she, imagine she would see a person as handsome as him in her entire life.
She had met a lot of handsome men, for example, like Garrick but this man's face, body and aura beat all, hands down.
She was even sure it would beat the future ones too.
She had no care about men before but looked at her, staring dreamily at this white-haired man, his ocean blue eyes were amazing, she did not fret that she could drown in them.
"Are you real?" He asked, breaking the silence, seens it seems, both of them were spellbound.
"I should be asking you that, are you even real?" She shot back, innocently.
She could not help, how helpless she was right now, his hoarse and deep voice sent a chill down her spine, she forgot about the empty world she had been scared of, she doesn't mind spending all the time with this man.
Tavon huffed and got up, dusting his clothes as he covered his hair again, Mia got to see his beautiful stature clearly, he was leaned and attractive.
'This must be how those men in those romance books her sister was talking about, were' she thought, before realizing her new found obsession was already walking away.
"Wait!, wait!" She yelled, walking behind him, trying to get his attention but he did not budge.
'He sure has some attitude' She thought.
"Mr, you have to wait!" She shouted still following him but he was not giving her any attention.
It happened swiftly, she did not hear its sound but it blasted her and she fell heavily on the ground.
"Ahh!" She shouted from the pain she felt from her body hitting the ground.
She steadied herself, as she looked up to see the white-haired man already in front of a big, green dragon, he formed a big blue barrier to surround her, keeping her safe. She fell more for the gesture.
Can he really destroy this thing? She thought, worriedly.
"You had better stop having those stupid thoughts!" She heard him yell as he used his right hand to give the dragon a huge jab below its mouth, the blow was so powerful that it sent it flying and the dragon fell, far away in pain, causing the dust to rise.
'Wait, wait! Can he hear me?!' Mia thought, almost dying from embarrassment.
"Oh my, that means he could also hear me sing his praises all day" she said, whispering to herself.
She saw him run to the dragon as he grabbed the dragon's tail before it could get up and cut it with a sword she didn't know had come to exist in his hands, it shoned with blue writings on its blade. It surely looked like it could kill anybody!
The dragon's tail fell on the floor dripping with blood as well as his sword and white-haired held his sword, near the dragon's chin, who stood up, abruptly.
The dragon then blew hot fire but white-haired was quick to dodge.
Seeing its failed attempt to burn white-haired, it breathed hot fire again and wanted to jump at him.
White-haired was able to, yet again, dodge. After which, he quickly vanished his sword.
He swiped his hands in an upward and downward manner that produced a blazing red light ball and threw it to the dragon's direction who shook its head, trying to steady itself from the contact.
The dragon then charged forward, with its mouth open to devour him but white-haired was able to escape, as he jumped up, landing on the dragon's body, with the dragon, swirling from side to side, trying to get him off.
He vanished his sleek sword back and immediately thrusted it in the dragon's body, as he brought it out, slashing the body with his sword and thrusted it down again, which made the dragon shout in a loud voice and white-haired jumped down with the sword still in the dragon's body.
It wailed in pain, as it burned to ashes and white-haired caught his sword before it fell.
She looked at him, as the ashes of the dragon burned away from behind him, his walk was even more magnificent as he came towards her, his walk was even more amazing.
She saw some people running in.
So, there was not an apocalypse? maybe they were disciples and heard the commotion.
She felt herself drifting from the world. Apparently, she has never seen a person or an animal die before, so this is her first.
Her body landed on the ground but she was able to see him as he bend to her level and said:
"You called Miss and I answered…"
