"I fear that whatever might be wrong with me could be really deadly," I mused aloud as Samantha and I rushed into the foyer.
"There's nothing wrong with you milady," Samantha muttered behind me.
"Then why are they keeping it from me?"
"Perhaps because there's really nothing to worry about," she replied in a gentle tone.
I wanted to believe her, but the trepidations were killing me. I couldn't help but worry about the possible worst.
I spotted a maid dusting a nearby vase and quickly approached her.
"Milady," she curtsied when she noticed me and I gave her a small smile. "Do you know where the alpha is?"
"I believe he's in his study, milady."
"Thank you…"
"Selana, milady." She answered, and I mentally chided myself for forgetting because I was sure she'd told me her name before.
