To say I'm taken aback when Astrid agrees to ride with me without hesitation is an understatement.
I didn't expect her to accept my offer, incredibly not so readily. And after all the awkwardness of her fall and my subsequent help.
I had almost laughed at her, and although it was a funny sight, it was also embarrassing for her.
So when she agreed to ride with me, imagine my surprise.
But I'm not complaining – I'll take any opportunity to have her close to me. And now, I might even get to hug her, damn.
I quickly moved my horse alongside hers while waiting for her to highlight her horse. When she did, I scooped her up, settling her before me.
I ensured she was comfortable, adjusting my hold to support her back and legs.
